“Nice small hotel by the grand canal”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Nice hotel, elevator only fits 2 people and guests have to use the key to their room in order to operate them. Kinda neat and different. Breakfast is satisfying, they have it at the basement, continental. Rooms are spacious though, king bed with lounge chaise on the sides, lots of pillows. The rooms are named after musicians, decorated in baroque style. Our room has a veranda that opens to the view of the grand canal.

This is a small hotel, with less than a dozen rooms, but centrally located and with all the needed menities. The staff was pleasnt, well-informed, and helpful. The price was reasonable. Breakfast was nice. A short walk away from San Marcos square, but not too close. On the main canalway, but not noisy. Would definitely return.
Room opens to a window right on the main canal.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the water, upper floor.

just back from a 3 night stay at this hotel, it is clean, the staff are most friendly and helpful, the lady who serves breakfast is lovely! She gets very busy as the dining room is only small with not many tables, (we had to wait one morning but didnt mind as our room was just across the hallway) however she copes admirably and always with a smile.
Our room was spotlessly clean, the only downside was there was very little room between the bottom of the bed and the wall but for 3 nights we really didnt get too upset about it, found it quite funny doing a sidestep when we needed the bathroom.
Our room had a fabulous view across the lagoon and I would agree with other reviewers it can get noisy but that just adds to the atmosphere and I dont think it would have been a problem if we had wanted to change to the quieter side, however I love people watching so again it wasnt a problem.
all in all good value for money, excellent location, friendly and knowledgable staff, clean and comfortable, what more could you want??

Room Tip: front for people watching back if you want peace and quiet

This was our first visit to Venice and we were "dancing in the dark" somewhat when we were making our arrangements. The Tribute was fairly well liked on this site and the location seemd pretty good on the map so we booked.

Our arrival was easy, the Vaporetto stop was within 100 metres and one bridge of the hotel. we were cautious as other travellers warn of the difficulty of wheeling large bags on the "cobbles" so we travelled with on board bags we could carry, I cannot remember seeing many cobbles, the main surfacing seems to be paving stones of about 45 x 30 cms which would pose no problems in my opinion.

Our room was on the third floor, (the Beatles room) serviced by a lift. The room faced out across at San Giorgio Maggiore. I loved the bustle and the numerous boats arriving and leaving giving one a constant changing view. The boats seemed to stop between about 20.30 and 07.30 ish, getting busy form about 0900 onwards. The hotel was not noisy but from the front facing rooms (the best in my opinion) one could sometimes hear occaisional late night revellers wandering past.

The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English apart from the breakfast waitress who we communicated with through smiles and sign language. The breakfast room only had four two seater tables and we did see one couple having to wait for a table, Breakfasts were basic and continental but the ham was the best I've ever tasted.

Although small our bathroom was perfectly functional and the shower, which looked as if it was not going to work due to the stretch the hose needed to make from the tap to the wall, was superb. The shower fitting was the type where you selected bath or shower by a lever on the taps. Despite being on the top floor the shower was powerful and compared with our power shower at home. There was instantaneous hot water available in the bathroom at all times There were tea and coffee facilities but reminders were needed if you required Lyons breakfast tea rather than green tea etc. we also received, on request, fresh milk which we kept in the fridge in the room.

The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from St Mark's square, passing the Bridge of Sighs on your way. It is possible to avoid the rip off prices charged in some Venetian bars and cafes by using back street establishments the hotel receptionist recommended two very good ones two hundred yards away, Osteria Al Do Gobbi and Al Vecio Porto.

Room Tip: The view is tho the front but there will be some noise as you are located in a bustling city. We had...

Excellent location for exploring Venice islands being near St Mark's square and Vaporetto stop at Arsenale. Had room on top floor with balcony and fantastic view.
Will definitely be going back sometime in future.

Three of us stayed for $150 Euro/night. The service was excellent and the 2nd floor room looking over the Lagoon and boardwalk was exceptional. Wifi was very fast so we could watch movies as well! Close to St Marks and the main walkway to Rialto bridge. I would stay here again when in Venice.

Hadn't been to Venice for 30 years and wasn't disappointed. This hotel is in a brilliant location just along from St Marks square. Carnivale had just finished but Venice was still bustling. The hotel offers very good value for money, its clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
