“Had a great stay for a great price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

3 nights from the 6 - 9 May, had a lovely stay, would highly recommend getting a lagoon view room for a fantastic view. Room was great, comfortable bed and a really nice place to stay, staff were so helpful when needed.

Ideally located with the Fonte.Nove ferry stop outside. Easy 30 minute journey from the airport on the alilaguna blue line and access to places like Lido and Murano on the ACTV.

Easy walk to Rialto bridge and St Marks, would recommend the walk rather than travel by boat as you see some of Venice's charming side streets and canals.

All in all the hotel was great and would return in a heartbeat if i was to visit the city again.

The location is the show stopper here. It is located right in front of Fondamenta Nove water bus stop which is quite convenient to travel around Venice. Wifi was good (better than my expectations) and Matteo was very helpful in the booking process and guiding us a bit on Venice. Our room did not have a view (I am not sure of other rooms) and I thought the bathroom could have been slight bigger. Overall, for the price and the location I would recommend staying here.

We loved this place! The staff was wonderful...very friendly and helpful! The rooms were nice and clean and we had a great breakfast! It is nicely located right near the water taxis, but far enough away from the more touristy areas that it's not loud. Would definitely visit again!

Our room was clean, plenty big for two people, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our first floor room faced a beautiful canal, and we really enjoyed the view.

Vecellio is a brief (40 min or so, as I recall, since the taxi doesn't move fast...but you're in Venice, so enjoy the views along the way) water taxi ride from the airport, ending at a stop pretty much right in front of the hotel. Keep in mind the airport is some distance away from the part of the city tourists want to see, since the city itself is a gorgeous series of small islands. This hotel is in a nice, safe, quiet area, a relatively short, enjoyable walk from San Marco square and the Rialto Bridge.

Breakfast was solid at Vecellio, and the coffee, spectacular. However, the absolute highlight of our stay there was dealing with the friendly, courteous, and helpful staff at Vecellio. I speak very little Italian, and the folks we encountered were very patient with my attempts to speak the language, and kind enough to communicate with us in English, which made life really easy for us. They made us feel extremely welcome, and could not have been more eager to assist guests, whether it was checking us in early, or offering useful directions (a must, since it's REALLY easy to get lost in Venice), along with helpful restaurant suggestions. We loved staying at Vecellio, and will definitely be back on our next stay in Venice!

Small hotel, away from the really busy parts and yet only a 10 minute walk from St Marks and the Rialto bridge. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Just a bit warm though as the air conditioning was somewhat ineffective!
Breakfast was typical Italian, coffee, bread and croissants, but enough and nicely served.
The owner, Matteo recommended a couple of local restaurants which were great. Overall, a nice place to stay and very reasonably priced.

I stayed there with my mother for 3 days, our room had a great view of the canal, the hotel location was very close to transportation and is easy to locate. Everything is about 15 minutes away (walking) or by boat. The room was very lovely, nice size, and clean with marble floors and walls. The manager and staff were very helpful and friendly will stay here again if I return to Venice.

Wonderful 3 star hotel in the Cannaregio, Fondamente Nove district of Venice.(actually 2 sites, main hotel and an annex called Piccolo Vecellio not on the water. Vaporettos stop right in front of hotel for transport to Train Station, Grand Canal, Murano Island or St Mark's square etc. (cheap, inexpensive travel) Excellent staff, good breakfast included. Husband was in wheelchair so we had first floor room next to reception area, facing lagoon and vaporetto stop--very quiet! Room was decorated in Venetian style--very charming---good sized room and decent sized bathroom. Very clean. Unknown if elevator available (I did not see one). Satellite TV but no English channels/programs broadcast. No dvd. Brochure says internet available but we did not use it. Bed very comfortable. Excellent restaurant called "Da Alvise" is a couple of buildings down from hotel. Within easy walk to St Mark's square, Rialto Bridge . Long alley-type walks, many bridges that could be problem for handicapped or limited mobility (recommend getting a hotel on the Grand Canal to them)( Also there is a handicap accessible map of Venice on the internet) Felt completely safe. Getting to a hospital is a problem since the hospital is on the other side of Venice from this hotel and person must go by some type of boat transport to get there (vaporetto/water taxi/motoscafo) We would stay here again--very enjoyable and relaxing

Room Tip: Handicapped or those needing to be near a hospital would want to choose a hotel on the Grand Canal w...
