Given that finding reliable accommodation in Venice is not always easy, this is a clean and reliable option in a convenient part of the city. Away from the tourist hordes of San Marco, yet still close to many of the cities attractions, its location is Don Orione's best feature. The rooms are fairly spartan but spotlessly clean (no TVs or home comforts). Breakfast was reasonable and the outside areas are pleasant. The free wireless access was appreciated but having to log on and off every time became tiresome after 3 or 4 days. I was lucky enough to pay a slightly reduced rate as part of a group using the conference facilities, but felt that the rates were a little on the high side given that it was out of season.

It's a religious guest house.
No television.
No safe.
No fridge.
There wasn't even a soap tray in the shower.
The only decoration was a crucifix.

There is no pool, no bar, no restaurant etc.
It took us 2 hours to find the place, as it's nothing like as grand as suggested by their web site.
I paid 140 euros per night. I would say it's worth 40 euros.

In many ways this hotel seems to be a hostel for the non-backpackers. Furnishings were sparse but adequate. Clean, spacious and the bathroom in the room was large with a tiny shower. Noise level was good and the staff was very accomodating. Breakfast was provided and was good.

Best part of the hotel was its location near the Zattare water bus stop making an easy transfer from the airport. It is only a few blocks from the Accademia Bridge and Art Gallery and was perhaps a 15 minute walk to St. Mark's Square - it was hard to estimate because we had a high tide during our stay which flooded the streets and shops.

It's hard to describe anything as a real value in Venice, but compared to other hotels, the rates were reasonable and the location ideal.

Our family found this hotel to be extremely clean, quiet, and reasonably priced. Our room was simple but had everything we needed, including a spotless and well-appointed bathroom. Our room overlooked the courtyard, so it was away from any street noise. We enjoyed the church bells in the morning at a not unreasonable hour. The breakfast pastries were delicious, and they offered a decent variety of other items. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and kids traveled to Venice. This location provided large, clean, cool, and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed the location. The staff was very accommodating and kind. For a Venice hotel it seemed very roomy. Plus it is incredibly quiet and peaceful!

We only stayed here one night during a 3 week trip to Europe. We found this to meet all of our needs well: clean, good location, helpful staff, working AC and wi-fi and a decent breakfast. Its located on a quiet street but very close to public transport boats on both ends of the street. I would stay here again and recommend to others.

We stayed here for four nights and were very pleased. If you are coming from Marco Polo Airport and take the Alilaguna, get off at Zattere and walk directly up alongside the Gesuiti Church for about 400 feet and you will be at the door. If coming on the Vapporetto down the Grand Canal from the railroad station, get off at Academia and walk with the Grand Canal to your back. That walk is somewhat longer. The room we had was spacious. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast good except for the lack of fresh fruit. You serve your own coffee from a machine and can have all you want. We found it fun to walk back to the Zattere at night, have a glass of wine at a cafe and do some people watching along the wide boulevard. It is a good location in a substantial recently remodeled building (with AC) at a good price (for Venice). The religious nature of the place is not intrusive yet it provides one with tranquility which one is glad to have returning from the crowds at St. Mark's.
