We stayed one night in this hotel prior to our cruise out of Venice. We stayed in the main building with no elevator but the person at the desk (a male checking in and a female checking out) helped us carry our luggage up and down. The rooms are adequate, but the a/c worked very well and staff were pleasant. Free breakfast was nice, probably great for European standards. The hotel is located on the Piazzale Roma so is right across the street from the people mover for cruise ship, and the bus terminal and not too far (just over one big bridge) from the railroad station. The best part is that I left a whole bag of souveniers that I had purchased outside the hotel. I ran back to the hotel and a very nice maid helped me find it. She got a big hug and tip!

Room Tip: The main hotel does not have an elevator but has better views and is probably quieter than the annex...

We booked this hotel prior to our cruise on The Ruby Princess of the Mediterranean . The location was perfect for us. I had read on Venice for Visitors that you might want to thin about how many bridges you wanted to haul your luggage over! We took the ATVO bus from the airport and the hotel is literally next to the bus station, Piazzele Roma and the People Mover to the port. It was a little tricky to find the door in but were greeted warmly. We had two rooms upstairs in the annex building. We had to cross a very crowded car park, but had expected that. There was an elevator so that was helpful. The rooms were large enough and very clean. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was updated. There was a refrigerator in the room. They had left a couple of sad looking candy bars and some cans of soda. The air conditioning works well but there is a funny system where you need your room key card to turn on the lights and electricity.the view is of,the car park. Don't open the windows as there can be a mosquito issue. Not necessary for us. The rate included a small continental, breakfast in a small dining room. Adequate..... And there was a good coffeemaker. We were allowed to,store our bags after check out. They were very helpful and cooperative. It was hard to negotiate the luggage around all the cars in the lot like a game of Tetras! I would recommend this hotel for its convenience, price and comfort if you are heading out on a cruise.

Room Tip: We were in the annex, not sure if rooms in the main building were any different.

For the fourth year in a row, we stayed at Ca Doge ... this time for six nights. The location is ideal, especially if you have a car. Easy walk into the city. The accomodations are most pleasant & very clean and the breakfasts are perfect. Best of all is the very friendly staff, including Mark, Agata (& hopefully by now the new baby), Claudia, Silvia, the magicians who park the cars and the wonderful lady who cleans the rooms. If we should be fortunate enough to return to Venice, no doubt we will contact our friends at Ca Doge to arrange another wonderful experience.

We stayed for one night on 21 September, prior to going on a cruise on 22 September. We arrived around 9.30pm after a long trip from Australia, including a 10 hour stop in Dubai. It was so great to find Ca Doge so easily after getting the ATVO bus (6 Euro per person) from the airport. It is also straight across the road from the People Mover (monorail) to the cruise ship terminal which costs 1 Euro per person. Reception closes at 9pm but there was a note on the front door directing us to the car park to get the keys. Be aware the office to the car park is way at the back of the car park. Just go through the arch to the left of the reception door and squeeze your way through all the cars to the office. If you are not travelling alone, it may be easier to send a "scout" to the car park office and leave someone out front with cases. You will struggle to get your cases in between the closely parked cars. The car park attendant showed us to our room and carried our bags upstairs to a room on the first floor. Our room was small but not as small as I had imagined after reading previous reviews. High ceiling made it feel more spacious. The room was quiet despite the main bus car park being across the road from our room. The water was hot for a shower. The air-conditioning worked well. We did not experience any of the problems regarding noise, air conditioning and lack of hot water as others have stated in previous reviews. The bathroom had a full length bath with shower over it and a shower screen. Our only complaint would be that we had booked twin beds, as we were two friends travelling together but the two single beds were made up as one huge bed. If we wanted to separate the beds, one of us would have had to go without bedding. We mentioned this to the car park attendant when he showed us to our room but he said he could not do anything. Despite having to share a bed, it was rather huge, like a king size bed, so we survived. If you are like us and want twin beds, my advice would be to email directly your accommodation close to arrival day to remind them. The same thing happened to us on our cruise ship, despite the written booking clearly stating twin beds. The next day, Sylvia on reception was very apologetic. She was so nice and helpful regarding all other aspects - breakfast, advice re getting around Venice. They stored our bags after check out so we could sight-see Venice before boarding our cruise ship. It is only a short walk to a vaporetto (water bus) stop so you can see the Grand Canal and get to Rialto Bridge and Saint Mark's Square. For our first time in Venice, it was the perfect place to stay. Easy to find your way there from airport and after sightseeing in Venice.

Room Tip: Book a room in the main building, not the annexe, if possible. I think there are only 6 rooms in the...

The hotel has a good location in piazzale Roma, very convenient as we arrived later from the airport. As on the hotel confirmation email I receive, the room keys was in the office of parking. The annex rooms are in the same building as the parking office is and it has a lift which was great for the luggage and also important is that room is new, free wallpaper and fabrics anti allergic which was perfect to me.

My wife and I and another couple stayed at Ca Doge for only one night before boarding our cruise ship. The taxi from the airport dropped us right at the door and a short walk away were any number of water transportation options. We bought a 24 hour Vaporetta pass and were able to get to most of the places we wanted to see. We had rooms in the annex which is across a very packed parking lot that at times required some maneuvering to get through. The front desk staff was quite helpful and stored our luggage after check out/before boarding. Breakfast was included and adequate for a good start to the day. The rooms were accessible by elevator and were clean and quiet. The hotel is about a hundred yards from the people mover which for 1 Euro dropped us right at the cruise terminal

I chose this hotel as we were arriving late and I wanted something close to the Piazza Roma where the ATVO comes in. There was a note on the booking that said to email the hotel if you were arriving after 10.30pm, which I did - and was told that reception closed at 10.30pm but that we could collect the room keys from the parking attendant (Ca Doge has a huge car park - in fact, it's more of a car park with rooms that a hotel with parking!).

By luck, we arrived at just after 10pm, expecting reception to still be open - but it wasn't, instead there was a printed sign sellotaped to the glass main door asking us to collect keys as arranged, with my name on it in big red letters! Slightly odd but it all worked perfectly - though might scare a more nervous traveller slightly. They even left me the wi-fi code as I had asked, but for some reason this did not work until the next morning. Once it did, it was fast and reliable.

The room was very similar to other Venetian hotels of this bracket I have stayed in, slightly 'faded elegance' - but a surprisingly good bathroom. Bed was comfy, noise levels fine, even though we were in a busy area. We discovered the next morning that it only has 6 rooms in total, which I hadn't realised. Breakfast was included and was a reasonable selection of 'continental' items - though the toaster for the bread was a Breville sandwich maker which seems to make it warm and a bit crispy, but not really toast coloured! Again, just a few slightly 'odd' elements . . . Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for location and price.

One thing to bear in mind, the name of hotel not obvious from the outside. I expected to see it from the coach but we had to ask for directions, even though the building was clearly visible!
