My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of a cruise. It was good to know from the outset (our cruise also embarked at this port) where we would be staying. This hotel is in the hub of the transportation area in Venice and for that reason, very handy.
The exterior lacks curb appeal and the reception area is very small. However, we stayed in a suite which was very spacious and clean. One should be able to handle stairs and carry luggage as there is no lift. One hardly felt the young girl at the desk should haul our bags although she offered.
The bed was noticeably firm but I slept well after a day out and about. Breakfast is included and mostly of the repackaged sort but definitely sets one up for the day.
I would say this is a very convenient place being next to bus, people mover, vaparetto and even grocery store. I would certainly consider staying here on a return visit.

Venice is a very expensive city regarding hotels... Ca`doge is very good option specially if you are going to travel by for Italy, because is placed in the point when road arrive to Venice. Rooms are normal, clean and silent by night. All Venice can be visit walking.

We spent a night at the Ca' Doge Hotel mainly because we were taking a cruise next day. First of all the service is very good. Since the flight arrived late to Venice, they helped us by leaving the key and having the room ready. On the next day, they offered a room to keep the luggage in, which helped us a lot. In Venice there is a system named "People Mover" to get people to the cruise port easily. Ca' Doge is just in front of it (maybe 20 mts away) which for our purpose was excellent. Another good point is that it is in front of the plaza (Piazzale Roma) where all the public transport arrives (such as buses from the aiport) as well as taxis. Even if you arrive by train, the plaza is just about 300 mts aways. Also if you want to take one of the boat lines, you have one station about 100 mts away too. So for that purpose, the hotel is well located. In the side of the building where we stayed they have an elevator (so it is easier to move up with luggage). However, if you want to visit the main sites it will take like 25 min by boat and maybe 25-30 minutes walking.

Arrived into Venice early in the morning, the staff at "Ca Doge" greeted us and even though we were quite early allowed us to check in and gave us a day in Venice. Located at Piazzale Roma, the Ca Doge is right where the buses, train and taxis arrive from Marco Polo airport and right across the street from the "People Mover" to the cruise pier. Good price for Venice.

Booked this hotel for one night pre cruise because it was right near the buses from the airport and right by the people mover. That's where the plus points end.

Surly staff to the point of being rude, dirty room, broken loo seat, blood on curtains, tiny tv that doesn't work ( was told someone will come to fix it a week after we have left). Used toiletries and cracked mirror. As for the noise when people entered the room above. With every step they took you thought the ceiling was going to collapse it was so noisy. Impossible to sleep through. Hotel is unmanned at night, and it seems only a receptionist there the rest of the time. I would rather have thrown the money this cost straight into a canal.

After extensive reading, we decided that this was the place to stay, as we had to stay in Venice for one night before our cruise. It is within 50 feet of the Piazalle Roma, where we get off from the ATVO bus which we took from the airport. The problem is that the PR was crowded with buses and people, and we lost our bearing, so we walked a little out of our way until we found the hotel.

It is an old, small, unattractive building on one corner of the square. We got a room in the annex, which involved getting your luggage through a parking lot of thghtly packed cars. There was someone to help us lift the luggage over the cars through the tight spaces. We had a room on the second floor, which has an elevator. The room was about 250 SF, 2 beds, mostly comfortable. It was plain and unattractive, but clean. It was not noise proof. Breakfast was minimal but adequate.

The second location benefit was that it was within 50 feet of the People Mover, which we took the next morning to the dock. We didn't have to pull our luggage over any bridges. Until there is a better hotel in the PR area, I think this is the best place to stay for one night before getting on a cruise ship.

We stayed one night in this hotel prior to our cruise out of Venice. We stayed in the main building with no elevator but the person at the desk (a male checking in and a female checking out) helped us carry our luggage up and down. The rooms are adequate, but the a/c worked very well and staff were pleasant. Free breakfast was nice, probably great for European standards. The hotel is located on the Piazzale Roma so is right across the street from the people mover for cruise ship, and the bus terminal and not too far (just over one big bridge) from the railroad station. The best part is that I left a whole bag of souveniers that I had purchased outside the hotel. I ran back to the hotel and a very nice maid helped me find it. She got a big hug and tip!

Room Tip: The main hotel does not have an elevator but has better views and is probably quieter than the annex...
