Stayed one night before our cruise and one night after. We were in the junior suite. King bed and sofa. Good size bathroom with shower in tub. AC worked great. It was very hot in Venice. Located next to the People Mover, which takes you to the cruise ships in one stop for 1E. We were not told this on our outgoing day and spent 20E for a taxi. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Reception area but no lobby. Three small tables for breakfast. Rolls, cereal, yogurts, fruits, juices and beverages. Located on Piazza Roma , the airport bus terminus and vaparetto stops are located. A super location. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Also a good value.

After having checked Trip advisor prior to a Cruise, we found plenty of positive reasons to book the Ca' Doge Venice, firstly and most importantly the location.
Set in the far corner of the Piazza Roma, where the buses from the Airport arrive, we had a 1 minute walk across the square to the Hotel, from the outside, we were initially sceptic, but once inside, we were very impressed. We were warmly welcomed and taken to our room, which was large and very comfortable, reached from it's own small hallway, from which the large bathroom was also reached from. Our room was on the first floor, with no lift (due to the age and size of the Hotel), but the staff helped us up the stairs with our luggage. The only down side being all of the bedroom windows, the bathroom window and hallway window had very unappealing views, but this is Venice and land is scarce and buildings are crammed very tightly. All of the windows had full working shutters, so we were able to keep the room cool and shaded, while letting air circulate when the windows were open.
The hotel was 15 minutes walk to St. Marks Square, which took us over several Canals, down many winding alleys full of gift shops crammed with Comedia Del Arte Masks and Venetian Glassware in every size, colour and description, (although after a while, it began to look too much as it was everywhere). All the sights we wanted to see were within walking distance from the Hotel, so we never took transport around the city.
The Hotel Staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts in the Hotel is a typical Venetian Breakfast, simple and adequate, cereal, coffee, breads, yogurt and fruit. No hot food available, but as they say, when in Rome..........!
Departure from the Hotel was as friendly as our arrival, we spent a rather long time with the owner, and her pet parrots which freely wander up and down the Reception Desk from their perch positioned close by. The birds were very friendly and very used to being petted and sitting on guests shoulders.
From outside the Hotel, we caught our shuttle to the Cruise Ship, which was minutes away, we could see the funnels of our ship from the bedroom window on the morning of our departure, so close, we could almost reach out and touch the ship.
The Hotel is in a very busy part of town, but if like us, you are used to City living, then the noise does not cross your mind.

As an aside, sailing in and out of Venice in a Cruise Ship gives you the finest views of St Marks Square and Venice, we were so impressed to sail past the square and look down on the tourists in the square, or being able to view up the Grand Canal and view it from the bay.

Great Value Hotel, perfect for a Pre or Post Cruise Stay in Venice due to the ideal location.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrive to this quaint hotel. From the outside its not much to look at, but once in the doors. The staff were all very lovely and extremely friendly. The rooms were beautifully appointed and very large for the size of the hotel. It was a very comfortable stay and I would not only recommend the hotel, but visit it again. The location was an added bonus as its easy to get to the train station, the port, and the city via the piazza roma, as well as all the main sites that are just a water bus or short walk away.

I booked Ca'Doge after reading a lot of the Hotel reviews for Venice via TripAdviser. I booked it via the Ca'Doge website. The price was reasonable, the staff friendly and helpful and the location excellent. I was worried that Venice would be flooded this time of the year but after talking to staff at Ca'Doge, I was assured that there is no flood. I was there from 09/01/2009 to 14/01/2009 and am glad that I didn't cancel my trip to Venice. There were no floods. The Hotel is located right where the Airport bus station is, and is only a two minute walk from the ferry stop. It is very convenient as my flight got there at 9.00pm and i didn't have a chance to get lost with all my luggage.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is free internet access and breakfast. You will be disappointed if you like hot food for breakfast. I was given a room that smelled of cigarette smoke, the staff kindly and quickly changed my room after I asked. My friends were on the third floor and I was on the second floor. I suggest you opt for second floor, as some of the paints on the third floor were peeling due to damp (that's Venice though).

We stayed at Ca Doge for two nights at end of October 2008. Expensive, but so is everything in Venice. Rooms are well appointed, staff is friendly, continental breakfast was great. Very noisy during the day with the sounds of the Piazzale Roma and ongoing construction behind the hotel, but quiet at night - no problems sleeping.
Water pressure is an issue, stairs are a bit of a nuisance and front of hotel is grey and dingy with garbage and recycling bins blocking sidewalk. Tricky getting in and out of front door.
But they say location is everything and this hotel has the best location if you are transferring by bus, watertaxi, train, cruise terminal, etc.
