This was our first trip to Venice, and we didn't know what to expect. We picked this hotel on the basis of a recommendation from a friend of a friend. We were absolutely delighted. The location is great; barely a five-minute walk from the airport waterbus dock. It was very close to all the major things to see in Venice. But after nightfall, the neighborhood was peaceful and calm. Our room overlooked a small canal, and in the morning, we'd open the window and listen as the city woke up and came back to life - shop keepers opening up, gondoliers getting their boats ready, tourists and residents making their way to breakfast. The breakfast in the hotel was very good - cheese, meat, cereal, fruit, pastries, juice. I only had one minor complaint. We expected that the room would have an electronic safe, but when we checked in, there wasn't one. The staff promised that one would be delivered to the room, but since it was already early evening, we wouldn't get it until morning. It was delivered shortly after breakfast, before we left the room for the day.

Big, nicely decorated rooms, spacious bathroom, perfect location - close to everything but on a quiet street, flexible kind service and a very pleasent breakfast. Yes, it is expensive, but this is Venice, and compeared to other Venice hotels, this is great value for money.

My boyfriend and I went to Venice for a short early Valentine's trip this year. The hotel's front desk provided friendly courteous service. We were incredibly happy with the room. It was spacious with high ceilings. The bathroom was huge. Our room had a private terrace overlooking the canal. Had we stayed longer, we might have had some more time to enjoy that terrace! Hotel location is great - short walk to San Marco! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else traveling to Venice.

This hotel has a wonderful location and rooms are charming, but......the air-conditioning wasn't working during our stay and we were told to "open the windows" Unacceptable. Secondly, our twin room had tiny beds with ridiculously hard mattresses, so our nocturnal experience was not good. We felt as if we were sleeping on bricks. Thirdly, the mattresses themselves were too big for the bed frames and bounced alarmingly in the night-not good when one woke up exhausted every morning.
Breakfast was adequate-tinned fruit, inferior fruit juice, croissants, inferior rolls etc.
Staff were polite enough , but somewhat off-hand. Again, not good enough when one is paying in excess if £200.00 a night.
This hotel could be marvellous, but it isn't, which is a real shame.

We stayed in the Casa Nicolo Priuli last year and had an extremely pleasant experience. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The location was great and the breakfast was great! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Venice.
