Our decision to book an apartment at Residence Corte Grimani was so wise! Between the walking and the sightseeing it was great to be able to go back to have a break before setting out again. We did a supermarket shop on day 1 and had breakfast in the room each day as well as a light meal either at lunch time or in the evening - an ecomony as we just had one meal out each day. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect. When we visit Venice again (soon I hope) we will definitely stay here.

Corte Grimani hotel was wonderful. Located right on a canal, we could see the gondolas and hear the musicians singing and playing their instruments. And just a short walk to St, Marks Square! The apartments were spacious and clean. We stayed here in September 2013, My husband and I, Two sons and their Wives and five Grandchildren. Everyone was very pleased with the accommodations.

We had a guide provided by "Italy Hotline" named Sara. Sara greeted us and we visited all the famous sites. And of course we went to Murano to see Venetian glass blowing and Burano where there is beautiful lace. Both very enjoyable. At night a gondola ride was scheduled, arranged at a perfect time...6:00 PM just when the sun was setting. We had three gondolas for the family. My granddaughters and I were in the gondola with the musicians. They enjoyed the song "Ciao Venezia" and sang it many times during the trip. They are still singing the song in America.

This hotel provides the true Venice experience. The staff was always very welcoming and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect. It can be a little difficult to find at first but once you've found it, you know you're going to enjoy your stay. They placed us in a suite on the first floor (second floor to us North Americans) that was completely updated, extremely clean and immense in size. We had 2 bathrooms, a very large bedroom with 3 windows that can all be opened, a small but very functional kitchen and a dining room overlooking a canal where Gondolas go by. It was Venice heaven. While the building was built in the 700's it was obvious it has been recently completely remodeled and I never expected bathrooms to be that well appointed or the suite to be that large. There were 2 only disappointments. There was no breakfast service available, although there was an excellent buffet across the courtyard for only 10 Euro's (a great value in Venice) and there was also the in room kitchen. The other disappointment was that being on a canal there was a lot of noise, especially from motor boats, it you slept with the window open. However, the windows were double insulated and extremely effective if closed. Overall an absolute wonderful experience. Wireless internet worked well. Additionaly so did my cell phone service. Easy walking distance to St. Marks square and Rialto Bridge. Be prepared to pay top dollar for food, beverage, pretty much everything. Expect to pay $100 Euro for a Gondola ride for 2 people for approximately 50 minutes. A can of Coke is 3.5 Euros. On checking out be prepared to choose between being billed in US dollars or Euros. Be sure and understand your credit card exchange rate and service fees in order to make informed decisions. Also - Italy tourist tax is always required in cash. There are representatives
from the island of Muarono that will give you free transportation by boat to belp promote business. They will be walking around the St. Marks Square area in the early morning (around 9:00 AM) and approach you. You can purchase multi island boat tours at near St. Marks square, just be advised not to pay for what can recieve for free. We stayed in apartment 101.

Room Tip: The suite was roomy. Two bathrooms was a nice addition.

at 400.00 USD a night for a queen, double sofa bed and a twin, and then paying 15.00 euros to use a lousy washer and an extra charge to use the cooktop is ridiculous. but very close to st marks and clean. very helpful staff.

We flew to Venice two days early to catch a cruise. After over 20 hours in airports and airplanes, I bit the bullet and paid 110€ for a water taxi direct from the airport to the hotel. We would have saved a bit by taking a bus to Piazzale Roma and then a water taxi to the hotel. The cheapest alternative would be to fight the crowds on the vaporetto and then drag our bags up and down the steps of the bridges between the hotel and the nearest vaporetto stop.
The hotel is well hidden. The day we checked in we wanted to stay up until our normal bedtime so we got a restaurant recommendation and staggered out to St. Mark's Square and then to find the restaurant. Finding the hotel was a challenge. We forgot to take another review's advice to remember that it is directly behind the large Armani store. An hour later we finally found it.
The hotel has among the largest rooms I have ever seen in Europe. We asked for a quiet room, and except for some 4-5 am noise from another room, it was very quiet. The location could not be better. The hotel's check-out time of 10 am is early, but they let us stay an extra half hour; held our luggage and later ordered a water taxi (€90) to take us to the ship. The staff was very accomodating. We were very pleased with our choice.

We booked this nice, well-located apartment accommodation for 3 nights. One of the big wins with this place is it's location near St Mark's, which is less than 5 mins away. Despite being in busy San Marco, it is quiet and off to the side from busy streets. One suggestion would be to map it out before you lug around your luggage - we accidentally had to cross the Rialto twice. Note that it is on the same side as the ferry stops. You can access it off of a main street before a small ponte. About a 10 min walk from Rialto. The concierge are very friendly, contrary to the odd comment here that I previously read. We opted out of using the kitchen and washing facilities - we were on holiday of course! The room was very clean. TV in the sitting area, very new bathroom amenities, great shower pressure with constant hot water, very good mattresses. Electronically programmed safe for valuables. Great recommendations from concierge for food and coffee. E R Salva was our favourite morning cafe and pastry place - we went there almost twice a day! Things to mention: for the perfect gondola tour, walk across the Rialto and get into San Pollo. Hail a gondolier who looks relaxed. We had a very friendly one who was waiting in one of the campos we were walking through. Too many tourists try to hail a gondola in San Marco. Another good activity was too walk around St Mark's at 9-11pm. Contrary to the comment that Venice too touristy with bad food, as long as you stick to the recommendations, quality and taste were quite good. Good place to stay and happy to recommend it to friends and family.
