We enjoyed our stay at Residence Corte Grimani. The staff was outstanding. Very happy to show us the apartment. Tell us all about the city. Give us recommendations for everything. The unit was very large. A little outdated, but everything worked great and was very clean. Staff willing to help with any special request. Always restocked the tea and coffee every day. The location was perfect. Short walk to everywhere. Only issue was the directions were a little difficult to understand. Google has you coming in on a side street that ends at the canal. Will definitely stay there again if going back to Venice.

We stayed here for 3 nights over New Years Eve. It was perfectly positioned and very quiet considering how close we were to St Marks Square. This was a beautiful time to visit with the Christmas lights and Fireworks. It was busy on NYE, but not as busy as the summer and no smell!

We got a water taxi to the front door. One of the few places where you can get a taxi straight to the entrance.

I was worried about the room size as we were a family of 5 (3 teenagers) in a classic apartment. I need not have worried. Although listed as one bedroom, we actually had an additional small room which had a bed. The other 2 slept on the fold out couch. We didn't have a view, but was not a problem for us. IN winter it gets dark early, so they view would have been wasted on us.

The front desk was most helpful as the best position to view the fire works and ordering a water taxi.

We did not use the kitchen, other than the kettle, so did not have to pay the additional fee. We went to the supermarket and bought bread, meat and cheese which could be stored in the fridge for lunches. For dinner, we got take away from Pasta and Sugo, (1 min walk) and Aldo Pasta. Both (3 mins walk) were reasonably priced considering the alternatives.

We were thrilled to receive a complementary bottle of Prosecco and Panettone on NYE. Would stay here again if travelling to Venice

This property is located at the confluence of two of the canals, including one where the gondolas go to sleep at night. It is, therefore, close to colorful gondolas, singing, etc. It is not a place one stays because one in is interested in an historic and quaint property. Our apartment was very up to date and, in some senses, spare. That said, it was spacious and very comfortable. It was well equipped including having a microwave and a refrigerator. The staff was extremely accommodating, recommending restaurants, obtaining water taxis, etc. It was not truly a hotel, so there was no food service, although there were places close by where one could get breakfast, for example, if one wanted. Instead, it was intended for longer term stays. And the location could not be beat! It was a very short, reasonable walk to Piazza San Marco, for example. There is no question but that when we next go to Venezia, we would consider staying here again.

Room tip: We had a lovely room, but I have no idea how one would pick it.

This was easy to walk to from the Rialto vaporetto stop-great location-close to St Marks Square and Rialto. Very clean, quiet. Ask for a room with view-we didn't and wish we had. Front desk people very helpful with restaurant suggestions and a place to have breakfast.
