We had a one-bedroom, 2 bath unit which was spotless and very spacious. We had a view of the canal and gondoliers out our window. It was nice having a refrigerator available, as well as the separate living room space. There is an extra fee for using the kitchen for cooking and for the washer/dryer combo unit. Unfortunately, the washer-dryer was tiny and did not dry our clothes properly, so we ended up taking our laundry to a local self-service laundry called Effe Erre. We were later told by hotel staff that the washer/dryer takes 2 hours 50 minutes per load. Just be aware, if this is one of the reasons you are choosing this hotel. Donatella (I believe that is her name) at the front desk was very warm and welcoming and obviously cares about her guests.

We have been staying at the lovely place every year for more than 10 years. Our annual trip to Italy always has Venice as our last city and the Corte Grimani is a perfect place for that. It is homey, relaxing and welcoming and we feel at home here. It is a small apartment and a welcome change to hotel rooms. We relax and unwind and even catch up on our laundry. The staff is amazing and friendly. I could not imagine staying anywhere else.

This accommodation is pleasant and the staff helpful. Well located to the tourist needs. Venice is old - very old, so don't expect perfection in any aspect. That's what makes it appealingly quaint I suppose. At 5.00am boat traffic on the small canals starts, whether it be water taxis or delivery boats. As this hotel is on a canal, take that into consideration. Didn't worry us, but may to some. This hotel is 5 floors high and does contain a lift, which is surprising, considered the age of the building, but welcomed. We had prepaid all accommodation charges through our travel agent and I was a little surprised that we had to pay a "bed tax" of 24 Euro upon departure. So be it, but what did concern me is the fact that it had to be paid in cash, which I consider unusual.

Room tip: Lift is small & slow. First floor suite would be preferred.

Very polite staff great location but canals stink, and beds are bag quality. Extra beds for teen children are so bad, they are cheap and low quality. The master bed is also bad quality.

You have to pay a one time 50 € charge to use the kitchen utensils but you can use the microwave and need to buy your own soap if you use the dishwasher. Be sure to get your room cleaned if you eat in the room.

If you have small kids, access to Corte Grimani is very close to the canal and can be potentially dangerous if kids fall.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff was very warm, the rooms were spacious and clean. We had everything we needed. The location was great as well (We had a lovely view of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo). There is a canal right out the front door and San Marco is just a few minutes away. There is no breakfast but for us that wasn't a big deal, we wanted to go out and eat and drink in Venice! They were also so helpful in storing our luggage on our last day and helping us by printing off our return airline tickets. I'd highly recommend staying here, we are so happy we did! (*Helpful hint, before booking at a third party site, check the actual hotel's website. We scored a darn good deal for our stay!!)
