“Nice bed and breakfast”
Reviewed 18 April 2012

This was a nice little place to stay. The owner was behind the counter when we arrived and was very helpful. He recommended a few restaurants and went out of his way to secure us a reservation. The place had a lot of character and charm. Also they had various Italian travel books to help you plan your stay. The rooms were decent formthe price we paid. This is not a place where you would get all the frills. We shared a bathroom down the hall, not as bad as I thought it would be. Breakfast was included and was your standard continental style food. Pastries, yogurt and cereal. A good start for your day. There is a farmers market right outside the hotel with lots to choose from. The location was located near Rialto Bridge and was easy to find. Real nice place and very good on the wallet. With the money you save, you can get a lot of espresso.

This is a very nice old bed and breakfast near the Rialto Bridge. It is quite full with Rick Steve's tour groups and/or with those reading his Italy book. The American tourists took away from it a little for me as the group that was in there was loud, rude, and let their kids run around without watching them. It is however very quaint, the rooms are modest, but comfortable and you can't beat the location. There is a great wine shop just down the street and it is right next to the farmer's and fish markets.

Room Tip: Wifi is only available in the lobby, but we had a room right at the top of the stairs and could get...

Wonderful B&B near the Rialto. Good sized rooms, beautiful old furniture and fittings in the hallways etc. Very reasonably priced, comfortable, steeped in authenticity and history, we absolutely loved it. Note there are no elevators so you will have to carry your luggage up a few flights of stairs.

Pensione Guerrato was in a great location, near the Rialto bridge but not in the crowded area. It's also right next to the fruit market, so we ate delicious fruit every day (after so many carbs and gelato, that was especially nice!). The staff is helpful, breakfast is beautiful, there is wireless in the lobby. Great visit. Highly recommended from a family of four (two teenagers).

This is a wonderful small B & B, run by friendly staff. The hosts are very knowledgable and helpful. The breakfast was delicious in a lovely dining room. The location is right near a #2 vaporetto stop (Rialto Mercato) and very close to Rialto bridge. These make getting around super easy. The rates were good for our stay.

There were two of us and we stayed in private, adjoining rooms. One with ensuite bath and the other just across the foyer ... But exclusive to the room. These rooms were on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator so pack accordingly.

We loved Pensione Guerrato and will definitely stay on our next visit to Venezia!

Book blindly this hotel based on review by Rick Steve's and i totally trust his recommendations. This Hotel is no different, it is so easy to get there from the train station and just a short walk from the vaporetto stop. Directions given to the hotel is spot on and though located in between tiny lanes, it is still easy to find. a short climb up the steps, you be warmly greeted by the staffs & owners. Super friendly & a lively joker with a nice moustache - very venetian. My room is located on the 4th Floor with shared toilet facilities. Room is very spacious, clean with fabulous furnitures. The only inconvenience is the 4 level steps up. Every else is perfect. I love the lobby & breakfast room. It really feels like you are in a venetian home and the green walled breakfast room with huge mirrors is a real gem! The location is great! I love the great restaurants and small eateries around the hotel which are walking distance - if you need any recommendations, just ask the staffs. They really knows everything if not everyone in that neghbourhood. The location is always buzz with actions & activities, morning will be the fresh markets, and evening will be the night markets that are filled with well priced souveniers, snacks & goodies to bring back home. food selections are in full abundance. Key tourists spots are just over the rialto bridge or vaporetto away! Perfect! Perfect is best to describe Hotel Pensione Guerrato! Grazie!

Room Tip: ask for the lower floor rooms if you do not want to scale the steps.

It is difficult to book a single room in Italy for a family of 5, however, the Pensione Guerrato turned out to be the perfect option for us due to its location and charm. The Pensione is located in a charming alley right next to the Rialto Market. Easy to get to from the rail station and only steps from the Valporetto stop. The building is filled with beautiful antique wood pieces. It is not fancy, but very practical and perfect for a family stay. The rooms are basic, but very clean. Ours had a queen bed and three cots for the kids. WiFi is free and breakfast is included. Being in the heart of Venice is a big bonus! -- We would stay here again!
