“Everything but the breakfast...”

This hotel's rooms and location are amazing. The rooms and bathrooms are HUGE. Also, the hotel is just a 2 minute walk from a vaparetto station that can get you pretty much anywhere you want to go, and a 2 minute walk from an amazing outdoor farmers market. While there was no view of the canals (at least from our room), there was a nice view of the square below.

One of my only complaints is the breakfast. Based on the other aspects of this hotel I expected a much better breakfast. There was nothing special, it was all just a little below average.

Also, the reception person could have been a little more cheery. But, that was a minor detail compared to the rest of the hotel.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so no matter what room you're in you'll have to go up a few stairs, bu...

The Pensione Guerrato is well located near the east end of the Rialto Bridge, At the Rialto Mercato vapporetta stop, making it easy to reach all the sites, The staff is friendly and eager to be helpful and informative. Our room, #21, was spacious, had an outstanding view, was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Be aware, however, that this 800 year old building has, understandably, no elevator, so there is a stair-climb to most of the rooms, but it is not severe. The included breakfast, while not offering a meat item, was very good. This hotel deserves the Rick Steves recommendation that it has earned

We cannot say enough about this wonderful, historic hotel. We spent two nights at Pensione Guerrato and were first impressed by its perfect location -- just steps from the Rialto Mercato vapo stop but in a quiet alley with no noise. The owners are lovely people, and go out of their way to make you stay enjoyable -- excellent dining suggestions, good directions, great breakfast, etc. Our room was large, air conditioned (yes, in Venice!) clean and quiet. We loved the location, just steps away from the Rialto bridge, cicchetti bars, and the Grand Canal. The most enjoyable thing was being able to walk out of the hotel, getting lost in the maze of streets, and knowing that your hotel was right in the heart of it all.

This is a lovely, quaint pensione in Venice, Italy. It's family owned and kept up very well. The breakfast is also good--and served in a comfortable dining room. The owners are wonderful, caring people. The first time we were there a few years ago, a family problem came up and they could not have been more accommodating.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bathroom.

We had two rooms at the very interesting Pensione Guerrato. Both were clean and very spacious. We were very comfortable there. Staff was friendly, and they serve a very nice breakfast. The building itself is historic, and as you step into it, you feel like you are stepping back in time. This is a great place to stay in Venice. It is near the Rialto Bridge and near a lively street market with great produce. We purchased great fresh fruit from there.

Right in the middle of everything (but not noisy down this alley) by the Rialto and local market. Not far to get to pulling bags from the vaporetto stop. Staff was very helpful. Recommend using Roberto's choices for meals. He was 100% in pleasing our group of 8 with restaurant suggestions.

We stayed at the apartment because the Hotel was booked for the days that we were staying in Venice. The location of the apartment is great although you have to check in at the hotel and then find your way to the apartment with a hand-drawn little map that they give you. It took us a while to find the apartment with three very tired kids on a summer day. The hotel should have someone walk you there since the map is not clear. We've travelled all over the world and speak 4 languages. Never had a problem finding anything. Front desk staff wasn't friendly. The entrance to the apartment has a staircase that is not safe. The window glass was broken and the tiles on the floor unfinished.
