“Excellent base for visiting Venice”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

The Lido is a good base for the area and in only 10 minutes on the ACTV boat to Venice. When you disembark from the boat there are plenty of shops and restaurants. I used the local supermarket, Billa, rather a lot as well. It is a very short walk from the dock to the free beach on the other side of the island. The beach was sandy and clean and a welcome play area for children. There are plenty of canals and tree lined avenues to wander around on the Lido. I would stay there again if visiting Venice.

“Great day at the beach after Venice sightseeing”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

We visited in July, so after 2 days of walking around the streets and canals of Venice, all sweaty, we were ready to take a refreshing dip in the ocean. Hotel staff in Venice recommended this beach, so we took the water taxi and voila, what a pleasant surprise. Personally, I didn't expect much, but it was much nicer than e.g. beach in Barcelona. Nice Mediterranean feeling to the whole area where the water taxi drops you off, about 10-15 min walk to this pretty big beach, which has options of renting beach chairs, loungers with umbrellas, restaurants nearby. Have to say it was a highlight to our visit in Venice! (mainly due to the extremely hot July weather of about 36C) :)

“Lido a positive stay.”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Very quiet island, very little traffic. Very green, lots of plants and flowers. Easy to bike around, no hils :-). Short way / time to Venize, San Marcos place, 15 min. whit the water bus. A diner for 2 whit 2 serving of drinks 35-40 euro.

“Great place to cycle - totally flat!”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

After a few days of city living we were ready for a change of pace, so caught a water bus to the Lido. We hired bikes and cycled round the whole island (about 20 miles) in two hours with a couple of short stops. The island is flat and there are cycle paths, so you certainly do not need to be an expert cyclist!

The beach area was still being prepared for summer and - to be honest- was a bit tired looking. We had a nice coffee and an ice cream in different locations on the main street and enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, watching the world go by.
