“Magical location and amazing breakfast!”
Reviewed 30 April 2012 via mobile

We spent 3 nights at Sandra's b&b. Loved the quiet location, just a few steps away from anything you might need. We had wonderful food just around the corner and ejoyed a glass of wine sitting next to the quiet canal.

Breakfasts were fantastic, always something different each day.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the location or the very large room on the “Campiello”!!! Quiet, Comfortable, friendly and memorable!!!

Me and my girlfriend have just stayed here for 4 days and we can not fault any aspect of this trip. The owners Sandra and her husband give the best customer service I have ever experienced in a B & B.

The location is perfect and walking distance from major sites such as the Jewish ghetto and the Rialto bridge. Sandra leaves a home baked cake everyday and they really make your stay excellent.

If you are thinking of Venice please please please book here. It'll be the best decision you will ever make.

Thank you for everything and I'm sure we will meet again.

James and Lauren.

This was our first time in Venice. Like many others we found Sandra after reading the reviews on trip advisor. This place lived up to all our expectations - the location was excellent, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Leonardo and Sandra were the perfect hosts and had lots of recommendations as regards local eateries and places to visit. We would love to go back and would have no hesitation in staying at BandB Sandra again. Thank you very much x

This was the first time in Venice for me and my girlfriend. We found Sandra Bed and Breakfast from reading some good reviews on tripadvisor and decided it seemed like a nice place to say... We were not dissapointed.

It has a superb location as it's away from a lot of the busy hotels but still near shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed in the attic room which was amazing. Very spacious and had a lovely terrace on the roof with fantastic views of venice. The bed was very comfortable, teh bath room was good with a decent shower. The room was cleaned every morning to a very high standard and tea/coffee and cake was left in the room for us.

Every morning there was a lovely breakfast waiting for us which was different everyday. There was a good selection of food and it was all very nice.
Sandra and Leonardo who run the B&B are very nice people. Very polite, friendly and helpful. They gave us good advice on places we could visit and which restaurants were good.

I'd love to go back to Venice one day and would love to stay at Sandra B&B again.

I don't think I can add anything to my review that most of those before me haven't mentioned, about how simply wonderful Sandra's B&B is!!! It lives up to it's reviews and is an absolute jewel in a lovely quiet part of Venice. Sandra and Leonardo are amazing hosts, very attentive and extremely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and like a previous reviewer has said, Sandra was very patient with my husband each time he asked her if she could switch her router back on!!! We stayed in the canal room which was lovely. The bed was spectaculary comfortable and the bathroom was well equiped, with a lovely walk in shower and a really good hairdryer. There is loads of wardrobe space too. Sandra would leave a little plate of home made cake in the room each day, which was very welcome to have with a cuppa when we would get back to the room after walking around most of the day! Her breakfasts were wonderful, with a really good selection of fresh fruit, cheeses, cereal, yoghourts and some delicious home made speciality every day. Leonardo was a wonderful host at breakfast time, fussing around you making sure you had enough coffee etc. All in all you can't go wrong staying here, it doesn't take long at all to walk to all the main sights, incluing St Mark's square and the Rialto Bridge. You are spoilt for choice for restaurants within easy walking distance, and Sandra will give you a map with some recommendations of places to eat which we found helpful. As for getting to the B&B itself, Sandra's instructions on how to get there from the Water Bus stop are very good and only takes about 15-20 mins. One word of advice, do not take loads of luggage, travel light!!! Apart from having to carry everything on the way to the B&B (and yes it is quite cobbly in parts), Sandra clearly states on her website that there are a few flights of stairs to get to her apartment, so you will not want to be lugging suitcases up them. Just don't pack too much, you only need a small travel bag for a few days!! The only thing about the canal room I found is that the boats do start chugging up and down quite early - from 5am on some days!! It can be a bit noisy but the windows are well double glazed and if you close them it's not too bad. Sandra serves breakfast until 9:30 so you certainly have time for a bit of a laze anyway!! So....if you are thinking of staying in Venice, STAY HERE!!!! You will not be disappointed!! Grazie Sandra e Leonardo, per un meraviglioso soggiorno a Venezia!!!
One more tip...a 'must do'!! Get the 'Traghetto' Santa Sofia (near Ca' D'Oro) which will take you over the Grand Canal to the Pescaria (fish market). On Venice's Grand Canal, traghetti are the passenger boats that cross the canal at seven points between the railroad station and St. Mark's Basin. The boats are old gondolas that have been stripped of their brocaded chairs and other luxury trimmings. They are rowed by two oarsmen: one who stands behind the passengers like a traditional gondolier, the other closer to the bow. It only costs 50 cents and is a really exciting way to cross the Canal, as the oarsmen wait for a gap in the 'traffic' before going across...a bit like riding a bike across the M25 I'm guessing!!!! It's great fun and is the cheapest thing we did during our stay!!!

Room Tip: Canal room has amazing views!!

If you want to visit Venice and like a more personal touch this is the perfect option . There are a nice selection of really good local restaurants within a ten minute walk all of the sites are within a twenty minute walk .The accommodation is spotless very Venetian and comfortable breakfast is good exactly as pictured tea coffee really good freshly squeezed juice ,fruit, bread ,cheeses ,cake, cereals ,yogurt and a hot savoury type thing which was alway yummy.
The welcome is friendly without being obtrusive and if we were going to Venice again I would choose to stay here . It's lovely to escape the crowds and experience a more "real" Venice .

It was our first time in Venice and we were lucky enough to stumble upon Sandra and Leonardo's wonderful home. This is one of the nicest places I've stayed in Europe full stop and really reasonably priced considering the amount of comfort and space provided.

We stayed one night in the canal side room before moving up to the attic space upstairs with it's own roof terrace. A completely magical setting, overlooking the city and big enough to feel like it's your own apartment. I ended up taking lots of photos of the room with the sheer excitement of it all.

Breakfast was vast and delicious every day and the rest of their home is stunning and has great views over looking 2 small canals. Plus the surrounding area is great. The Jewish ghetto has some fantastic restaurants & bars and Sandra gave us some great advice on where to try.

Basically, if you can, snap this place up. I can't imagine finding a better place to stay in what's by all accounts a pretty over priced and crowded city. Although we didn't find that in our little venetian oasis.

Thanks Sandra and Leonardo. You are perfect hosts!

Room Tip: The attic room is enormous and very romantic. It feels like having your own flat in the city. But...
