My husband and I spent a lovely three days/nights at the Molino Stucky using our Hilton Points I'd accumulated during work travel.

Here's some pro's and cons and a few tips:

Con's:

-Every time you want to get into the heart of Venice or go back to your hotel from the heart of Venice you have to take a water taxi. You don't have to wait long as there are a lot of departure and return times, but every 15 minutes in Venice counts.

-If you are prone to sea sickness, or drank too much at dinner, the rides back and forth can be, well, a bid nauseating. The lagoon, albeit amazingly beautiful, is a bit choppy.

-Pro or con depending on how you feel about it: It's not within walking distance of much.

Pro's:

-Venice/Lagoon view rooms are worth booking/asking for.
-Rooftop pool is great after a long warm day. What an amazing view. Spectacular. Beverages at night at the bar up there - stunning.
-Service was courteous. Pleasant. Not over the top.
-Rooms themselves were large and well-equipped. Bed very comfortable. A/C worked great.
-It's really easy to get here from the airport via private water taxi. 25-30 minutes in a high speed boat. Worth every penny.
-Executive area is located on the first floor in a partitioned-off space. Nice breakfasts in the morning. Good selection of foods/beverages.

Do yourself a favor and take a water taxi ride through Venice in the morning before all the day trippers get there. One of the most memorable boat rides of my life. Also, Rick Steves guide books offer probably the best tips for seeing the city.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for choosing the Molino Stucky Hilton for your reward stay.
I appreciate your comment on the hotel location and while it is true that we are not right in the Venice centre, we are only a few minutes away from the city and very close to the main attractions, enjoying the vicinity and a great view over Venice in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere in a typical residential area.
Thank you for being our guest and I hope to have the chance to welcome you soon again.
Sincerely.
Alessandro Cabella

Myself and my friend have just spent the most amazing 4 nights at the Molino Stucky. We arrived and left in a private water taxi, money well spent and the best way to arrive into Venice. From the start we were met with helpful respectful staff, it was the same every day.The room was spotlessly clean with requested twin beds and all the extras. We did not have a front view, but we did not pay for that and were never hardly in our room. You only had to step outside for the wonderful views! The breakfast was fantastic and so much choice. The sparkling wine was a nice added touch and we made buzz fizz with freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff were so efficient and helpful.A lovely lady met us each morning with a smile and a chat about our previous days events. We had no problems with the water taxi to/from the hotel, but we did see people waiting to get back to hotel have to wait for another trip as the boat was full, from zattere, a few unhappy people having to wait in the heat so I could understand there frustration. We did not want to leave and will definately return. We got an amazing deal and it was worth every penny.

Our stay at the Molino Stucky was brilliant. The main part that stood out for me in particular was the actual building itself, the hotel being a restored mill is huge and the building really is something else. At night the hotel is lit up and looks spectacular. The staff were all very helpful, especially with our journey to the airport which was quite complicated. The lady on the breakfast desk was also so friendly and helpful each morning. Once again the Hilton breakfast was brilliant, I couldn't help but think that as I sat in the garden with a selction of pastries, fruit, cooked breakfast and even a glass of prosecco that it was by far the best breakfast I had ever had. The rooms were great and every morning I had to look out of the window at the view! Being on the seventh floor was made the view even better and was even closer to the skyline bar and the pool. The skyline bar itself was incredible, once again the view is amazing and the drinks are lovely especially the Moet and Chandon Ice, it is around 15 euro but it is very much worth it. The only issue we had was an extra minibar charge but this was soon cleared up.

Room Tip: Higher floors are better for the view. Standard rooms are still very large and comfortable.

This hotel has been beautifully restored from a working mill to a stylish retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the main island. A water taxi is provided free of charge to enable you to come and go as you please. Views from the rooftop bar are amazing with the added bonus of a sun terrace and swimming pool. Staff were friendly, efficient and always happy to help. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. We are really looking forward to our next visit to the Molino Stucky!

We are having a lovely trip to Venice. The hotel is well situated despite being located on Guidecca island. Most of the main attractions are accessible via the free Hilton Shuttle boat to Zaterre and St Marco.

We arrived from Marco Polo on the AliLaguna Blue Line which seemed to take 1.5 to 2 hours to cover the distance from the Airport but the great plus is that the boat stops right outside the hotel so this is effectively door to door service. Tickets can be bought on the web for a small discount.

The hotel is in amazing condition having been restored in 2007 and we were given two adjoining rooms. Unfortunately the second room had one double bed and we have teenage children so this was not desirable. The front desk was extremely good about changing one of the rooms to a twin but this was in another building (the independence was enjoyed by the kids).

We are Hhonors Gold and had previously asked if we could have access to the Executive lounge and had cleared this by email in advance. Though the hotel was full and our small room could not be upgraded, the access to the lounge provided a wonderful breakfast (excellent Prosciutto Crudo and Smoked Salmon, wonderful croissants, hot breakfasts too. (Negatives are mediocre coffee from an urn, non fresh squeezed orange juice).

Staff at the lounge area (which is at ground level in a cordoned off part of the ground level lounge/restaurant area) were a combination of male staff who were courteous and extremely helpful and a girl who was surly and rude and who clearly didnt want to be there.

There is a swimming pool at roof level 8th floor that offers respite when hot and bothered after a morning with the swarming crowds of St Mark's Square.

Dont miss the Doges Palace! and enjoy your trip to Venice as we have done
