Had a week in April using my Hilton points. Very easy to get to from the airport as the Alilaguna Blue line stops right outside. I was upgraded to a room overlooking the Giudecca Canal so had fabulous views, even from the 4th floor. The room was very comfortable and spacious. An added bonus was the huge original(?) beam in the ceiling.
A word of warning - staying on Giudecca is very different from staying more centrally. The hotel does provide a free shuttle boat to Zaterre and San Marco but these run to a timetable. So no spur of the moment walks to "the sights". That said, Giudecca itself is well worth exploring. Far quieter than the main islands and a lot more residential. Still lots of canals and old buildings to see. Much of the manufacturing was done on the island and many of the factories are still there. Definitely worth spending time investigating.
Back to the hotel - we ate breakfast in the main dining room and the food was good with plenty of choice. The executive lounge is on the ground floor and is separated from the Rialto Lounge Bar by glass panels. I didn't make much use of the lounge, coffee and cold drinks available throughout the day along with nibbles. Alcohol was served in the evening (sorry forgotten the times).
Prices are as you'd expect of a Hilton in Venice, a Hilton burger in the Rialto Bar was 28 Euro and a bottle of beer 8 Euro. It was good though!
All in all, can't wait to return!!!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Giudecca Canal has fantastic views

Hotel was definitely the right choice. Lovely surroundings staff very helpful room a deluxe so extra space well worth the cost.
It is also worth knowing the hotel provides water boats to & from the square throughout the day & night at no cost.
Restaurant Aroma very nice but pricey worth a visit for a special occasion.
They will also arrange water taxi to Murano factory free. Make a visit to Burano village a sight to see beautiful.

No need to duplicate accolades from previous posters. This was our fourth trip to Venice so we were looking for something that Venice had to offer other than the crowds at St. Marks and Rialto. We stayed three days. As a Hilton Honors guest, we have been pleased pretty much all over the world with Hiltons where we have stayed. However, this Molino Stucky has got to be one of the crown jewels for Hilton.

We were given an upgrade to a beautiful executive room with a breathtaking view of Venice across the way and quietly passing cruise ships from various cruise lines. The area around the hotel is a nice little neighborhood with restaurants/bars right on the water. With a vaporetto stop nearby it took us pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. The 3 Day vaporetto pass was an excellent choice for us since we wanted to travel to Lido, Murano, Burano and several trips up and down the Grand Canal.

We only used the hotel shuttle a few times, but it ran on time according to schedule.

We had been on an Oceania Cruise and took the Alilaguna service from the pier (a short, level, luggage friendly walk) to the hotel where it stops directly in front. Total cost was 8 Euro each and we were there in about 15 minutes. Simple to store luggage with the friendly and efficient bell staff after checking in and we were off to the Guggenheim Museum. At 9:45am we did not expect our room to be ready, but they told us it would be ready around 11:45.

The Executive Lounge had a nice water view out of the front of the hotel. We found all of the food and drink throughout the day and night to be excellent, plentiful, and with nice variety. It opened about 20 minutes late one morning, but a small inconvenience. The wine in the lounge (in late afternoon/early evening) was of very nice quality and one particular Merlot and one Port were bottles I wish I could get back home.

I already mentioned the bell staff being pleasant, attentive and efficient. However, I wish to extend the same to the front desk, Hilton Honors desk (hello,Simeone) and the Concierge.

We took the Alilaguna from the hotel to the airport for a bit more money, but since the trip is an hour and a half that is understandable. However, that ride is quite the circle tour around the outskirts of Venice and neighboring islands. On a nice day it becomes more than a cheap ride to the airport and several passengers were taking photos along the way.

This is a very well run hotel that is the perfect oasis if one feels a bit claustrophobic or crowded on the other side of the water, wants a peaceful spot to still be in and see Venice, and appreciates fine service. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Should we return to Venice for a fifth time, we would not even consider staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: Check in very early since you may get the room with a view, store your luggage, get a vaporetto pass...

We LOVED this hotel. We had an amazing room, KING EXECUTIVE COMFORTABLE WITH A VIEW OF VENICE. 2 of the 3 nights we didn't go out but just sat up by the window and watched all the non stop activity on the waterway. Had we booked a basic room, I think we would of been disappointed. The room was large, the bed very comfortable. I found the staff very friendly. We loved Massimo, the ferry man. The roof top pool is very cool. Loved the lounge chairs. The only negative is there aren't many of them. It was very easy to get to from the train station (one of the public water buses that take you to Zaterre and the HIlton ferry picks you up from there) and to the airport (an hour and a half boat ride for 18 euro).

Room Tip: Get the King Executive Comfortable with a view!

My husband and I just got back after a little over two weeks in Italy and Greece. Our trip included stops in Venice, Florence, Rome, and Athens, as well as a week-long cruise on SeaDream I.

Generally speaking, when we take trips, we like to try to stay in boutique hotels with a lot of character. Sometimes it's not feasible or practical to stay in a small hotel. This trip was expensive for us, so it made sense to cash in some of the HiltonHonors points my husband has collected from multiple business trips. Hotels in Venice are expensive and, had we paid the rack rate for this particular Hilton, we would have spent a bundle. It's a five star hotel on the island of Giudecca with all the amenities you could ever want. Having once been a factory, the Hilton Molino Stucky is in an historic building and it looks like Hilton took pains to maintain the architectural features that keep it from looking like every other hotel on the block.

Fortunately, since we used points, our stay cost us almost nothing. Even breakfast was included-- all we paid for was an evening in the hotel's bar and for Internet. While I'd rather not have to pay for net access when I vacation, this Hilton's rates weren't that bad... nine euros for 24 hours.

We arrived in Venice at about 9:30 am and after picking up our bags and a ride in a water taxi, we arrived at the Hilton at about 11:00am. Our room wasn't ready and the hotel was completely booked, so we dropped off our bags and walked to Harry's Dolci, which is affliliated with the bar where the very first Bellini was made. We had a long, expensive, and tasty lunch as we watched massive cruise ships pass in the canal.

When we got back to the hotel at about 2:00, our room was ready. The very friendly guy behind the counter apologized for the fact that we'd had to wait, but they gave us a suite on the sixth floor in the tower. He said that aside from the Presidential Suite, it was the best room in the hotel. And I have to admit, though we had to ask directions to find it, it really was a beautiful room. The suite had a bathroom with a tub/shower combination, his and her sinks, a bidet with a spare telephone, upscale toiletries and even a scale. There was also another half bathroom.

The sitting room had a table and chairs, couch, flatscreen television, and stunning views of the canals of Venice. The bedroom had a king sized bed, flatscreen television, a desk, chair, and more stunning Venetian views.

Other amenities

Hilton Molino Stucky has a rooftop pool, gym, several bars and restaurants, conference facilities, a small gift shop, and runs a free shuttle every twenty minutes or so. We only stayed one night, so we didn't get a chance to try everything. One thing I did notice was that the prices in the bar and restaurants were a bit on the high side. This particular Hilton offers an executive lounge which, for a fee, offers a "free" buffet and beverages all day. We didn't take advantage of it. If we had stayed longer than a night, we probably would have considered it. Breakfast is expensive at 20 euros a head, though somehow ours was included with our points, so we didn't have to pay. I will say that the breakfast buffet at this Hilton was excellent; with plenty of things to choose from: meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, fruits, typical American breakfast items as well as Italian items. I think you'd be hard pressed not to find something to your liking.

Overall

It's worth noting again that the Hilton is very popular with Americans and Brits, so if you want a taste of Italian culture, you might not want to book there. It's a typical American style hotel with prices to match. Moreover, it's not on the main drag of Venice, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on your viewpoint. We kind of liked being in Giudecca and somewhat away from the crowds. It was nothing to get on the shuttle to get to the main island and it was nice to be able to escape the main island and its crowds when we wanted to. But if you're wanting to be in the thick of action or you're on a budget, you might prefer different lodging. On the other hand, we can't deny that we got first class treatment, despite paying in points. Our accommodations were very comfortable and they gave us a great welcome to Italy.

Room Tip: Try getting a room in the tower!

As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is a stunning refurbishment of the old Stucky Mill, and many of the original features have been preserved. Being on the island of Giudecca, you have to get a boat to the main islands of Venice—the hotel runs two of these free per hour, but only one per hour runs to St Mark's Square; the other runs to Zattere in the borough of Dorsoduro (the other side of the Grand Canal from St. Mark's Square). Otherwise, you can take the waterbuses or a water taxi. My low score is based on the fact that the hotel staff were completely unhelpful with printing boarding passes for my flight home. Because the business center charges for all printing, one of the staff suggested I used the internet to get my boarding passes, and email them to him. I did this, and one arrived but the other did not. They suggested that I tried sending the boarding pass again, but if course the airline would not allow me to do this a second time. I then tried to log on from my iPad, which meant going back to the front desk to get yet another internet voucher to log on. After about 20 minutes, I managed to check in using my iPhone via the airline's app, but in the end I took 40 minutes to do something that should have taken less than 5. A hotel of this class should provide free boarding pass printing, especially for Hilton Honors Gold members.
