Hilton Molino Stucky Venice Hotel

We took a 3 night break in Venice staying at the Hilton Molino Stucky in early August, my husband, two children aged 18 and myself. Everyone said it would be hot and busy, that is was, but it was refreshing to return to the hotel which had very effective air-conditioning. Situated across from Zatterre, the hotel ran a regular boat shuttle with alternate boats continuing on to St Marks Square making everything very accessible without being in the middle of it.
One of the reasons for choosing the Hilton was the roof top swimming pool, after a day of hot sightseeing it was wonderful to jump in to the pool and the views were fantastic.
It is a big hotel and when we were staying there it was at 95% occupancy, however it is spacious and at no time did we feel crowded. The breakfast buffet was extensive and I would recommend that you ask for the waffles or pancakes, both very good, although not obviously available. The bar serves up some mean cocktails
Rooms were comfortable and well equipped. A great short break and if returning to Venice would definitely stay there again.

Ok spacious rooms. Fading carpets. Stunning rooftop views though pool is far too cold and should be heated to 29 Celsius. Mediocre food and service at skyline resto. Somewhat remote location requires vaporetto transfer to get anywhere. Excellent concierge service especially Elena.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in August 2013 for two nights.
It's a great building with history, it used to be a flour mill (only flour mills in Italy would look like this!) the hotel is ideally located, it is just outside the main islands, however this gives amazing views over Venice and the hotel run a shuttle service boat over to piazza San Marco frequently.
It's a large hotel, very well kept, everywhere is very clean and tidy, lots of marble and shiny services.
A highlight is the rooftop bar and pool, the view from here is fantastic. I did have a dip in the pool which feels good to be swimming so high up with that view, however is was freezing!
The bar is nice in the evening when Venice is all lit up, staff are friendly here, the prices are a little high though, but I guess you can say that for any 5 star hotel, especially in Venice.
Breakfast at the hotel is good, a nice selection of most things that you could want, it is a bit hectic though depending on what time you're there.
Overall a really good place to stay, the service is good, especially the receptionists who were very helpful.

Somehow I flunked a bargain on this hotel and thanks to our Hilton club rewards they gave us an upgrade too. As you would expect, all the features of a 5 star, including free boat transfers from 2 departure points on the Grand Canal. Great hotel, exceptional value!

Stayed here for three nights in August, our last leg of a short tour of Italy by train. If arriving from the train station just get the number 2 public boat directly outside the station to Guidecca and save yourself some money. In a nutshell: large iconic hotel, room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable, breakfast was amazing with lots of choice but highlight is the rooftop pool and bar. Sunbathing on the rooftop was the perfect start or end to a day in Venice. Sun loungers were in high demand and there was often groups of people waiting around to snatch one up. The rooftop bar was a lovely place to watch the sunset over Venice but your bill will quickly mount up here, guess its the price you pay for that view! We thought the location was fab, far enough away from all the hustle & bustle of St Marks but close enough to still be part of it all. The Hilton shuttle boats were very reliable and took literally 5 mins to get to St Marks. All in all a great hotel with a very special rooftop!

I had scheduled an early morning flight from LGW (5.30am) having read reviews on how long the water bus takes (1hour 45 minutes) as i wasn't prepared to pay for a taxi both ways (110 euros one way) the water bus is 15 euros each one way
we landed at 8.30am so the water bus was quite pleasant & a nice way to see venice
Having arrived at the hotel at 11am we were advised our room was not ready - not a problem, this gave us a chance for a drink at the bar (pricey) & a wander around the hotel & then a chance to get to grips with the complimentary water shuttle boat

The shuttle: never had a problem with it, always on time, only one time it was too full from st marks stop so we walked very quickly to the next stop & managed to get on that one - no big deal

The pool & rooftop bar: drinks very expensive ie Mojito was 16 euros!, no spare beds to lie on but to be honest we were not in venice for a pool holiday, for us it was for the views & for somewhere to relax before getting ready for dinner
Service - great
Being closed for a pool party though i don't think won the hotel many top marks, if a hotel has a pool area - you generally want access to it, so perhaps whoever took this reservation should consider for next time the number of complaints received

Restaurants - cannot comment as we always prefer to eat out where the locals eat

Check in - quick & efficient, bags taken to the room for us when the room was busy

Bedroom: of a nice standard, large & spacious with large comfy beds, air conditioning worked a treat, fresh towels & bed linen every day (fyi we were in a 'standard' bedroom - no upgrades etc)

Breakfast: what a huge selection, for once i wasn't left disappointed by the offering, there was everything you could imagine & a selection for gluten free!

Staff: helpful, the concierge booked our water taxi for our departure day, no surcharges applied you just pay cash to the driver - this takes just 30 minutes & makes you feel like james bond!

We watched other tourists scramble off boats & then have to use guidebooks & useless maps whilst pulling along heavy suitcases to find their hotel in the centre of venice, the hilton alleviates any of those problems as you are taken to the door of your hotel - many central hotels cannot offer that service
For us, being away from the mayhem of central venice is what would make us return to the Hilton

Arrived late in the evening (11pm) as this hotel is the last stop from the airport on a shuttle boat taxi. (worth taking a private taxi!) Service was quick and efficient as you would expect, but no service to take our bags to our room which I thought a five star hotel would provide.

The room was very well presented and clean. Unfortunately we had a view of the inner part of the hotel but to be honest, we didn't care much as we didn't come to Venice just to view it from the hotel room window!

We ordered a late night snack as we had arrived so late and there was a decent menu to choose from including toasties and french fries. Expect expensive prices for the food as with any hotel. Breakfast was good, wide selection of cornflakes, continental breakfast buffet and pre sliced fruits. I did have to get up and get my own orange juice as the staff seemed a little slow in making sure peoples drinks were topped up.

The complimentary taxi boat was efficient and frequent and arrived on time.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay, although I must admit next time, we will probably try another hotel.
