We spent two nights here and took a room for ourselves and a suite for my son and his family. The hotel is luxurious and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. The suite had a balcony and there was a rooftop bar and terrace. The breakfast was included and had everything you could ask for. The hotel is a very short walk from Rialto Bridge so easy to access from airport or railway station by boat, and was well placed for all of the sights. The staff were always helpful and we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Venice - judging by the visitors book, it is quite a favourite with honeymooning couples as well. We were there for our 40th anniversary.

We booked through BA and didn't know what to expect. Great hotel - staff very obliging. Basic breakfast and smallish standard room but bathroom excellent. Great roof terrace for drinks before heading out. Brilliant location literally 2 mins from Rialto and 5 from San Marco square. Would stay here again if we return- which we probably will.

Room Tip: Standard room fine but no seating other than chair at desk so may prefer to go for a superior room.

The decor is a bit dated but you really can't beat the location. We got an offer through BA so we really got value for money. The breakfast is average. I'm surprised coffee in Venice was so bad. I wouldn't recommend the glass tour to Murano through the hotel or at all. It is very anti-climatic and you are pressured to buy something. The tour through the hotel drops you off but doesn't take you back nor do they inform you of this.
The canal tour is highly recommended and again, don't do this through the hotel. It was cheaper booking it ourselves.
Hotel is clean, rooms are of a reasonable size but can be quite noisy on the streets or on the 3rd floor. You get a lot of people traffic since this is the same floor as where breakfast is served. I would ask for a room higher up. Toiletries are of poor quality for a four star hotel.

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a room on a higher floor, not the 3rd floor where the breakfast room is.

The hotel is beautiful and the service is excellent. The location is also ideal.
The only flaw is the WiFi policy. If the WiFi policy were similar to other hotels (hassle free unlimited), this might get five stars instead of four. While WiFi is "unlimited," it is provided in small doses. When registering, WiFi credentials good fro only 5 hours are provided to the guest. When that runs out, it can be replaced at the front desk and can be replaced for a single 24 hour period ration,....but why? Provide free WiFi and if the hotel wants to limit the password to a fixed period of time, make the period of time equal to the number of nights that the guest is staying in the hotel. This is especially important for international travelers from non-European countries since most cell phone companies will radically overcharge for international roaming on a different continent.

Room Tip: The Junior suite is ideal if your party has more than two people.

We arrived via the Rialto stop which is literally two minutes walk away. Reception staff are welcoming and helpful. We booked a standard double room and were allocated room 402. This room is on the fourth floor, facing the square with another window overlooking a narrow side street. Although small, the room was beautiful and the bathroom quite stunning. Bath/shower gel and shampoo was provided along with cotton buds and a shower cap. Having read previous reviews, we knew there would be no tea/coffee making facilities so took our travel kettle. We used the mini bar to store our own milk and water.
Breakfast is served in a smart room on the first floor. There is a choice of cereal, cold meats, boiled eggs and cheeses, a variety of pastries, bread and rolls. Yogurt and fresh fruit salad was available every day. Once again, service here was excellent.
Wifi is free and requires a daily code to activate. Reception staff will print this off for you.
I recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and got one on the fourth floor.

Travelled to Venice for my 30th birthday, had a great stay. Fantastic hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very spacious, we were 3 sharing a room and didn't struggle for space. Our room was very quiet with a view overlooking the street below. The hotel was very clean, we could not fault it. There was a good selection to choose from at breakfast, mainly continental but also served scrambled eggs and bacon. The rooftop terrace is a great sun trap and you will not go thirsty if Efram is on duty. The hotel is in a very good location, not far from the Rialto Bridge and San Marcos. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We got a private water taxi from the airport which took about 30 minutes. Would definitely return to this hotel if I ever come back to Venice.

We greatly enjoyed our three days in Venice at the A La Comedia. The hotel-arranged transfer from the airport by taxi/water taxi went smoothly and our room was excellent. The staff was friendly and fluent in English, and suggested to us two great restaurants within close walking distance, where we had two memorable dinners. By the way, the location is a big plus of the hotel, full of shopping and restaurants, and allowing one to walk quickly to San Marcos or to the other side of the nearby Rialto Bridge. Finally, we found the breakfast very good. Any room for improvement? Yes, the hotel should modernize its outmoded wifi system, which--on top of being slow and having a weak signal--annoyingly requires that you log in again and again instead of being "remembered" by your devices.
