Great small hotel just off the canal.
Large modern room with separate sitting area.
Modern bath.
The strength of the hotel is the service. All the people were very helpful and welcoming. They knew where to go and how to get there and where to eat.
We had to leave about 5 AM and they had packed us a breakfast to go without being asked.

Venice is one of those "Must do" destinations. Superlatives from dawn to dusk and beyond, a brilliant experience. The hotel is ideally placed within easy walking distance of St. Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace, the Rialto Bridge etc. It is quiet, very well appointed, the breakfasts just as to be expected for a 4-star hotel. The roof-top bar is a pleasant place to enjoy, especially on arrival, otherwise the comfortable rooms are excellent for pit-stops between excursions.
Reception staff are very helpful, providing maps and ideas for finding bars and restaurants.
Be prepared for crowds, and get going early for visits to avoid a crush. It's well worth it!

Room Tip: double glazing makes rooms perfectly quiet. Door key seemed to be erratic, but my tip is not to rus...

Got this recommendation from our travel agent. He'd been here before and the tour wholesaler had connections with this hotel. So far, we have been pleased. It is very close to the theatro, Rialto Bridge and a short walk to San Marco Piazza. It is also very close to the water taxi stop. Just beware there are some steps the navigate between there and the hotel. We were shown to the second floor. Over looked the street but it's quite since the store below closes early and there isn't much going on right on the street. We would stay here again for the convenience.

We stayed at La Commedia in April of this year. The hotel is in a fantastic location. Having never been to Venice before we could not have hoped for a better location. 2 mins from the Rialto, 3 minutes from San Marco. The rooms were extremely comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have a balcony which overlooked the street and was great to take in atmosphere and view of the roof tops. Service was great from the front desk. However, the real service came on the roof top bar. Fantastic little bar and great for a cocktail in the sunshine before heading out for the evening. This is not to be missed. I suggest not following the Hotels direction's in finding the hotel. We got off at San Marco and were lost within seconds. The hotel is much closer to Rialto and a much more straight forward walk! I am sure my Wife and I will be back!

Room Tip: Restraurant is on the 1st floor (I would suggest trying to avoid this) Room 304 has a large balcony...

Even the hotel is centrally located, it is very quiet. The staff is really at your disposal and great kindness. The room was spacious and very clean and quiet. In addition, the hotel offers a terrace with a beautiful view of Venice. In summary, luxury and quiet characterize the hotel "A LA COMMEDIA". Congratulations!

Perfect position yards away from the Rialto Bridge (and vaporetti) but in a tiny campo away from the hurly burly. All staff are charming, warm, efficient and helpful. They are all beautifully turned out in immaculate uniforms (This is Italy!). And they knew about and booked local concerts etc.

We were upgraded to a room with a separate sitting area and a balcony overlooking the little square and the pantiled roofs of the buildings around. You could see the Campanile of S. Marco and hear its bells from the balcony. The room was luxurious but not especially big. The huge bed had elegant drapes around the bed head. Bathroom very marble with every facility. Rooftop bar (when it stopped raining!) with a few sun loungers. Efficient heating/aircon. Lovely toiletries (but no body lotion).

Breakfast in light bright room on first floor. Good strong but not bitter coffee. Huge choice of fruit, cheese, eggs, yoghurt etc. Cakes rather sweet for my taste, but very Italian. Bread disappointing (but for some reason we found most bread in Venice rather woolly).

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms with balconies. No harm in asking!

A small and fresh 4-star hotel 100% worthy its category just a 3-4 min walk from the Rialto bridge. An advice is NOT to get off the San Marco as one easily can interprete the Hotel's own information on line, better to get off at the closer situated Rialto.
A good standard bufet with yoghurt, cereals, diferent bread with cheeses and salame and prosciutto. Egg and bacon. Two-three dif types of sweets, great!
Multilanguage speaking reception desk always with a professionel attitude and good advice such as how one can find a restaurant of interest and which to avoid! Fantastic terrace with a bar and view over the roof tops, the San Marco tower included!
Recommended!!!
