This is a nice hotel - close to everything - there is not too far you can go from anywhere in Venice.

Rooms were good size with modern bathrooms. air conditioning was a bit loud and can only be controlled by the reception

we stayed only one night - and it was fine

My partner and I stayed here at the weekend. We had spent hours on the internet reviewing hotels/reviews and where to stay. We wanted to be relatively close to San Marco square. This hotel was just right for us. Isabella was especially helpful. I spoke with her the day before our arrival to find out how to get the waterboat from the airport and how to find the hotel - she instructed me perfectly and we found the hotel within minutes of jumping off the boat!
Great location and nice area.
The hotel isn't pure luxury but it is nice and clean and very good value for money. We had a nice big room and looked forward to breakfast each morning. Good selection and plenty of it! I would recommend this hotel to a friend and if we were to go back to Venice we would stay here again!

Room Tip: opt for superior double room

My daughter and I basically booked this hotel due to its location, which was perfect. It turned out to be the best choice, because in addition to its location, we experienced very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were not big, but clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was much more than could be expected for a small, Italian hotel. When we go back to Venice, we will definitely stay at Ca' Fortuny!

Dear Guests,

thank you very much for writing such a good review. It is always a pleasure to read that our guests enjoyed their stay here.

As for the location, we are really in the heart of the city, within easy reach of the main landmarks (St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Accademia) but our small street is also very quiet so you can rest away from the confusion of the main squares.

We are glad that you appreciated our breakfast. We do our best to meet guest’s expectations offering a rich continental buffet because we think breakfast is important to begin the day.

Well, we will be very happy to welcome you again during your next trip to Venice.

Thank you again

Isabella and Teresa

Stayed here before in 2011, 2012 and March 2013.
Now for the fourth time in June 2013. We again enjoyed our stay here.
It's a good hotel, nice rooms, good beds, very quiet at night, and the breakfast is still excellent.
And the location is very important for us. Most major points of interest are within walking distance; and the "vaporetto" and the "allilaguna" stop are only a few minutes away.
Also we found some very good restaurants in the neighbourhood.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: There is no "traffic" in front and the opposite bar closes early so all rooms are quiet.

This hotel is well situated and very peaceful.
Our bedroom was small with no view but the bathroom was large and not ventilated. All was well appointed, clean and comfortable.
The staff had a 'hands off' attitude but were available should you need them and were always courteous and friendly.
The breakfast was quite extensive.
Overall we had a better experience here than we did in the rest of Venice where we found food poor, expensive and the service generally off-hand.

Ca' Fortuny has to be recommended for its location. Most importantly, it's in the middle of San Marco, and just 5-10 minutes walk to Saint Mark's Square, 3 minutes to the Grand Canal, and 5 minutes to the Rialto.

As it is in a little side street the rooms are quiet, but it is also just off a busier street so shops, restaurants, etc are really convenient. There's a newsagents on the corner - convenient for drinks, snacks, transport tickets and plug adaptors. There's a local square nearby which is nice for hanging out in, and a supermarket just round the corner - though not so easy to find, so ask the staff.

The initial directions we were provided with to find the hotel from Sant Angelo vaporetto stop took a bit of figuring out, and a few wrong turns, so you'd be well advised to double check the route on a map/GPS before attempting it. Not a big issue, but with two heavy bags, it was a bit of a drag.

We had a superior room which was comfortably big enough for the two of us, has a separate closet space, and a great bathroom - very spacious, immaculately clean and equipped with a spa bath.

Breakfast is okay for a small hotel - not fantastic, and certainly doesn't compare to major chains - but there's enough to fuel up for the day, including Nespresso coffee.

Staff are friendly and helpful - although sometimes hard to find as they also work in a sister hotel next door, and there only ever appears to be one person on duty at any one time.

I'm sure there are better hotels in Venice, but in a city where hotels are criminally expensive, Ca ' Fortuny offers good value for money in a great location.
