“Fantastic location”
Reviewed 13 January 2014 via mobile

Just returned from a 2 night break at this hotel.
We requested a quiet room and were given one over looking the courtyard. It was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I also thought it strange to have to leave the key but I guess as they have access to your room anyway it makes to odds.
Breakfast exceeded my expectations as it included bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs which is unusual for European hotels. There were lots of other things, most standard breakfast items and a selection of sweeter cakes, biscuits and even tiramisu.
The top thing about this hotel though has to be the location. Right in the the middle between Rialto bridge and St Marks.
We also got a really good deal on booking.com of £220 which for a 4 star in such a good location was excellent.

We stayed here for 2 nights in December 2013. Great location (a short walk to/from St. Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge). The room was a decent size, though it was a bit dusty and we have a suspicion that it wasn't fully cleaned before our arrival. Breakfast is included and is fine--nothing special, but plenty of options (fruit salad, meats, some pastries, cereal, eggs). We disliked the staff's request that we leave our room key at the front desk when we were going out for the day. Overall, a decent value.

It took us a while to find the "do not disturb" sign, so for future travelers: it's a button on the thermostat.

We booked this hotel after reading reviews on TA about it and we were very happy with our choice. An ideal location, a few minutes walk from St Mark's Square and an easy walk from Rialto Bridge water bus stop. I asked the hotel to email me a map as I had read that it was difficult to find. The map they sent was a great help and we had no trouble locating the hotel in the quiet piazza. The hotel staff we dealt with were very helpful and informative about the sites to see and they suggested we purchase a 3 day pass for water transport which worked out to be a great idea. The room we had was very comfortable, plenty of storage room, lovely bathroom and very quiet. Breakfast was served in a small but adequate dining room with a good range of food. We would loved to have stayed longer than 3 nights.

We were traveling to Europe for the first time and leaving on a 31 day cruise from Venice. Not knowing the area at all I used Trip Advisor and Hotel. com guest ratings to find hotels and then picked from those that rated best. This hotel had the highest rating and the price was excellent. Prior to arriving they were extremely helpful to all e-mailed questions and even made me 1st night dinner reservations at Harry's Bar. Their breakfast buffet was delightful, their room was large, clean and modern and the hotel's location in the center of San Marco Island ideal for walking. We had way too may bags but they were great in sending bell hops to the nearest boat dock (about 50 yards away) and hauling them both to my room but also back to the Grand Canal for our transfer pickup to the ship ( For close in transfers to and from the hotel find out the tide schedule as boats can only get to the close in dock during low tide) Again they hauled our load of bags right to the water taxi. We were given recommendations to a number of more expensive hotels but they could not have been any better.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Junior Suite on the top floor. Very quiet, large and comfortable.

What a wonderful hotel in Venice! Location is outstanding, less than a 5 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is in a quiet area with huge rooms and a nice shower. The staff was friendly and breakfast buffet was good. For the price and location, I would definitely stay here again.

I highly advise you to take the vaperetto to and from the hotel back to the train station (if you arrive by train). We decided to walk when we arrived and it took about 30 minutes with heavy luggage and it was not worth it.

The location is good - just moments from St. Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge - although you need a good map or detailed instructions in order to find it the first time. The hotel is decorated beautifully throughout, in a cosy traditional style. The room was very comfortable with a great bathroom. There was free Wi-Fi, with a decent signal in the bedroom. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes.

On the downside, our room (a "classic twin") was very small and rather claustrophobic. It had just two small windows, looking onto a very narrow, dark alley with a plain wall opposite. The room was very hot and we were unable to lower the temperature - apparently, air-conditioning is available only in the summer. The sound-proofing was poor and there was significant noise from the hallway when other guests came in at night and also from the neighbouring bathroom.
