The initial negatives became positives for this hotel. Initially I thought I needed a hotel on the cannel in order to fully appreciate Venice. After some day site seeing planning and keeping in mind that you walk to everything a central location became more important. This hotel could not be in a better location. I read a lot of reviews complaining about the difficulty in finding this hotel. With a little virtual web walking on Google Maps before arrival I was able to walk from the taxi drop-off near the Rialto bridge to the door of the hotel without even looking at a map. The fact that hotel is tucked back in a court yard off a lesser traveled alley keeps the masses of tourist away along with the noise and general chaos. The hotel general spaces are small but the attention to your comfort by the staff is large. I highly recommend a stay here.

Tucked away in a courtyard, far from the madding crowd, and yet so close to San Marco Square, Rialto Bridge and Hard Rock Café!
The most friendly receptionist, who answered our questions and was so helpful and friendly. Room was clean, fresh and comfortable and there was a lift ...and best of all, was the most delicious breakfast with a huge variety of food options included in the room price. The hotel made our visit to Venice, so much more memorable and we will return!

Location is key for this small hotel. Situated right next to St Marks square it is only minutes away from the heart of Venice.
The staff are friendly and speak English.
The breakfast is delightful with unlimited coffee and a fabulous selection of cereal, pastry, fresh bread and fruit.
The noise on an evening is limited but you would be wise to bring a catapult to get the pigeons that make persistent sounds throughout the night.
The beds are my only gripe as on both mornings I woke up with horrendous back ache and sciatica, the beds are just too firm with no give.... As I write this at breakfast I can hardly bend at the table.
All in all my wife had a delightful stay and love Venice. It's definitely worthy of its 4 stars.

In traveling on the Grand Canal, I wasn't sure what our hotel would be like although we chose it from a review on TA. It is a beautiful spot in a quiet courtyard. Room is lovely along with a great bathroom, which is a big priority for me. The only problem was finding it, but with some help, we managed that. Staff are very helpful and efficient. Would stay here again.

We stayed here last week. The hotel is close to the Rialto Bridge vaporetto stop where the waterbus from the airport also stops. It is 5 minutes from St Mark's Square but in a quiet location. The staff are are all excellent from the front desk to the cleaners. The room are very clean and staff go in twice a day to tidy/clean.The breakfast is good, lots of choice and fresh & tasty. I would recommend asking for a room overlooking the courtyard if possible. I had one on the side as I requested a walk in shower which was a little dark. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Three weeks into our European holiday and we enjoyed 2 wonderful nights of rest here after exploring the delights of Venice
The hotel is situated in a quiet little courtyard, away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Grand Canal, but a very easy walk to the Rialto Bridge, San Marco Square and other major sites. Being so close to the Rialto Bridge also means very frequent Vaporettos in both directions
Our room was beautiful, spacious (junior suite) with separate day lounge area. The bed was comfortable, we had the best sleep of our holiday so far (not really sure if that can be attributed to the bed or three weeks of walking around 15km a day, either way, sleep was bliss!)

Stopped 3 nights at the Al Codega and would recommend highly. Great location as 5 mins from St Marks square and the Rialto Bridge. Hotel is in a nice courtyard and the décor is nice throughout the hotel including the rooms. All the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good, especially the scrambled eggs. Will stop at this hotel again when returning to Venice.
