Delighted with my stay at Alla Fava Hotel, we were warmly greeted and the polite staff made the checking in process very simple, this was very welcome after a hot and humid day.
The room we were given was on the first floor, good size, very clean and quiet.
The hotel was excellent value due to its location in the centre of Venice, close to San Marco and the Rialto bridge. As we were a couple, I was delighted that there was an extra toilet and shower facility on the same floor. I will definitely go back and recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Venice.

We arrived in Venice after taking a water taxi from the cruise pier. We were given bad directions and walked 1 1/2 hrs with five suitcases trying to find the hotel. After we found it, the man at the desk was very pleasant and made our day better. The room was what we expected and wanted, it was Italian style, not fancy. The only problem was no air conditioner. We opened the window and there were screaming sounds all night, the pigeons were fighting the seagulls. It was either sweat or listen to the birds fighting. Needless to say, we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. We had an early flight and had to leave by 7:50. Breakfast was ready in the kitchen, but, we were not allowed to enter until 8, so we skipped breakfast.
The reason I rated this poor, is because I paid in full when I booked the room with Expedia, only to come home and find the hotel charged me again. I contacted the hotel several times and was told I would be refunded, that never happened. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. It's a month and I still have not been refunded.

We had never been to Venice and if it wasn't for the gentleman working the front desk the night we arrived, we would of been out on the street. We arrived in Venice at 10:00 pm, and the taxi boats from Treviso stopped at 12:00. No one told us, so we were stranded on a dock waiting for a boat that was never going to come. A couple of river boat drivers told me that they ran every hour on the hour, but it was a lie!! I called the hotel, and the gentlemen at the front desk held our room and called a river taxi for us, and it took us straight to the hotel. I wish I could remember his name. The room was small with no A/C, and it was very noisy outside but hey, it's Venice!! We'd do it again!!

Room Tip: Bring your own pillows if possible and ask for a room away from the stairs.

Nice hotel, close to both Rialto and St Marks. The room was a good size and the front desk staff were friendly. The walls were thin but no more so than any other place I stayed in Europe. All in all decent value for the money especially considering the prices of similar Hotels in the same area.

This little hotel is in excellent location. Staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was okay. The room was clean, but you could hear all sounds from the next room and stairs. Good value for the money anyway!

Every tourist likes clean room, bathrooms, linens, towels... Friendly staff and good breakfast. The hotel has all of these. But whew! We paid 270€ per night! It is true it is near Rialto and St Mark's square but I think one can look for cheaper hotels , a bit outside of this main area. There are restaurants every where, literally evry corner!

The water bus is very easy to use. If we knew how easy the water buses are, we would have chosen to stay in a bit farther area and cheaper. Venice is only small and easy to move around.

Dear TAGT2010,

First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time of writing this nice review for our hotel.
We're sorry if you found the rate to be expensive but as you properly described, we're very centrally located (5 minutes walking to San Marco Square and 2 minutes to Rialto) and you chose an high season period. For many tourists visiting Venice the location is of primary importance and we feel proud and lucky to be able to offer this to whom choosing us.
We will be glad to receive you again perhaps in low season.
Kind regards

Just returned from a 4 day stay in Venice in the Hotel alla Fava. Venice is truly a fantastic place, it is everything you have ever seen and read about and more. If you haven't been there yet, make sure you do! The stay was all the more pleasant due to the hotel accommodation, cleanliness of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. You really would be hard pushed to get better value for money In such a central location. Thank you to all at the Hotel alla Fava for making it a truly special occasion. We will be back!

Room Tip: Room with canal view was brilliant!
