“Classic Luxury in the city!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013

We had a wonderful stay at Ca'Sagredo and would recommend it to anyone who likes a hotel steeped in history and in the middle of the city! The staff were so friendly and we were lucky enough to have the perfect view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was superb with prosseco served on both mornings and well... we just loved the whole experience! There was even opera and tango on in one of the event suites and although we did not have tickets we were warmly invited to watch. We definitely hope to return again!

Room Tip: If you can splash out for a Junior suite you wont be disappointed!

This hotel is in a superb location - away from the seething crowds but within walking distance of the main tourist spots. Situated on the Grand Canal, a vaporetti stop is right next to it, as is a public gondala for the quick trip across to the other side of the Grand Canal. Public rooms are sumptuous (it is a restored old palace) and it is well worth the extra money to book a bedroom with a view of the canal. Our room had fantastic views, a sitting area and even a little courtyard. Eating out on the hotel terrace on the canal is very romantic at night. Helpful staff. On the practical side a supermarket is within 5 minutes' walk for those presents of fancy pasta and biscuits at a much more reasonable price than the tourist shops. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again next time in Venice.

Can you imagine arriving by boat as they did in days of old at the front door of a palace on the Grand canal . Imagine ascending the stone staircase within - surrounded by statues and beautiful paintings across the walls. The exquisite drawing room leading to the ballroom and the incredible views of the canal. Finally your absolutely divine bedroom suite. What an experience, warm Italian hospitality and a unique heightening of the senses as you take in the views and the antiquity, transporting you to a wonderful time and place. We loved this quieter side of Venice and would highly recommend a stay there.

staying at this hotel is an experience in itself . some of the main public rooms look the same as when this was a private palazzo and so it impresses as much now as then. staff are friendly, especially the lovely ladies at breakfast. only negative was our arrival. we had booked a private water taxi to make a nice entrance but we couldnt dock as they had a service boat doing maintenance so we were dropped off and had to walk around so not exactly the perfect debut. fortunately everything else went to plan. our suite had a very nice canal view and was spacious and comfortable. the restaurant called l' alcova is extremely good.

This place is an oasis of beauty and tranquility in Venice. Close to the main attractions but far enough removed from the hustle and bustle, it was a perfect place to stay for 4 days. The building itself is a historical wonder. The rooms are comfortable and very well appointed. We stayed in a Junior Suite that was spacious and beautiful. We have stayed on the Grand Canal and we enjoyed the quiet and tranquility of our little room overlooking the rooftops more than our room on the canal (at a different hotel). The staff was very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We enjoyed a Spritz outside on the terrace on the canal each night with little munchies-very romantic. We couldn't have been more amazed and pleased with this hotel. Worth the room rates ...first class in every sense! We will return...I miss it already!

The 17th Century Palazzo is impeccably restored to its former belezza. A perfect location in Venice, away from the crowds of San Marco and yet on the Grand Canal, opposite the Rialto bridge and market. It is within walking distance from the train station. A perfect place to propose for those romantic couples.

Room Tip: We especially like room 310 as it had a side view of the grand canal without paying the premium pric...

We loved this hotel. It was a dream. The location. The staff. The breakfast. The room. The amenities. All five star and highly recommended. We had dinner at the hotel which was right on the grand canal. The food was outstanding and the view was the most romantic view in the world. If you love marble and murano glass and historic palaces... this hotel is not to be missed. A side note: Bruna, our hostess at breakfast was an angel. She welcomed us each morning with kisses and hugs and was a true delight.

Grazie for a wonderful vacation.
