Venice is spectacular and I so wanted our hotel to be too.

Take the water taxi and arrive at the hotel dock in style, what an way to arrive.

The hotel itself is modern, all the staff are friendly.

The rooms have everything you need.

Breakfast was good, all cold but plenty of choice.

And sitting on the small balcony with a drink from the bar was a great way to spend an hour.

But I wanted more, it wasn't the really special perhaps even OTT hotel I had imagined to go with the city itself.

Venice itself was amazing, great buildings, lots of great food, and lots to do.

We upgraded to Grand Canal view room and we were glad we did. The windows open up to the hustle and bustle but it was quiet enough with the windows shut. This boutique hotel is beautifully decorated and the showers are SO NICE! I could care less about the TV in the bathroom though.
It's tucked away from the really touristy areas but at the same time close enough to everything.

The only problem we had was that our neighbor had their TV on ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT, we told the front desk and I beleive they might have made a call however it continued...it wasn't until we banged on the wall that the neighbor got the point. This made for a long night of no sleep.

The breakfast is also very good.

Room Tip: Take a cab...no matter how adventurous you are, you will never find this place in under 2 hours.

This was my first visit to Venice and I had always wanted to arrive at a hotel in a water taxi. This hotel has an little pier that you can do just that. The staff were all really friendly and spoke great English. The continental breakfast was really delicious and lots of food. The rooms were clean and just what I hoped for. I would recommend sipping a drink on the little balcony off the bar and watch the world go by on the Grand Canal. There are also lovely little shops and restaurants near here.

Wow! What a hotel, really lush without being stuffy. Friendly staff, great room, what more can I say. Loved the breakfast especially the fact that everything was on the table for you, no getting up and going to the buffet, very civilised.

Do arrive by boat or you will never find it. I recommend the shared water taxi from the airport www.venicelink.com which we've used for three trips now and works really well.

This is perhaps the only hotel available that is NOT chintz, polished brass and renaissance sculptures; the usual Venetian motifs. It's by contrast a sublimely contemporary place - all black wood and dark alcoves. The 'look' is followed through right down to the staff uniforms and toiletries. It's very well done.
So, firstly, if you arrive on foot and you find it straight away, you deserve a medal. It's hidden down not one but two (very) narrow alleyways. But when you do find it...it's a stunning oasis.
The staff were extremely helpful on all occasions. We arrived early but our room was ready. And when we checked out they held our bags etc. Breakfast was a little slow (but it's Italy so keep this in mind at all times regarding customer service!) but the selection was impressive and coffee was excellent. We also had a few drinks in the bar including using the tiny balcony on the Grand Canal, which was genuinely lovely.
The room was adequately sized and the bed was extremely comfortable. No issues with the bathroom. There's free wifi too...which was the slowest I have ever encountered, so not that worthwhile. Only a few of the rooms have Grand Canal views but ours was above an adjoining canal and we still heard the water lapping, boats and the ubiquitous gondolier singing opera (yes really).
Location wise it's on the quieter San Polo side away from Rialto. But no where is that far from any of the sights. But it is less touristy than the San Marco side. There are (should you need them) a drug store and market very close by. The hotel provided a concise list of restaurants, this plus TA reviews meant we only had one average meal (try Birraria La Corte or Antiche Carampane).
The only negative, as there have to be some; our room was located off the bar area. Which meant some evenings it was quite noisy with guests enjoying themselves. But I'm willing to overlook that considering the quality of the place.

Room Tip: Away from the bar...
