I've had my share of bad service on my trip to Europe, so I went here with reservations after reading some of the other reviews, but the service was excellent. One of the fastest we've encountered in Italy.

It was hot as hell in there, and the music was a little loud, but the food was good, decent prices, good wine, and great atmosphere (except for the heat, which is everywhere in Venice tonight). On a slightly cooler night, we might have stayed for hours.

My wife and I had a meal here two weeks ago. From the outside the leafy, vine covered courtyard garden looked pleasant and inviting. However once in we found the staff to be far from inviting, it was so bad I felt that they almost resented us being there.

The food was below average. The caprese salad, consisted of 2 slices of tomato and 3 doorsteps of mozeralla just slapped on the plate with 2 olives to garnish. The mains weren't much better and the steak I had was thin, over cooked and had less flavour than cardboard.

Don't let appearances fool, this is an establishment to be avoided.

Went there for lunch today with the kids and after an uneventful culinary experience were insulted and abused by an obviously aggressive and perhaps drunk owner who hurled abuse at us because our 2 year old put a few stones on one of his terrace table. Shocking and disturbing. Avoid this place at all cost.

...but the beautiful al fresco garden surroundings were by no means matched by the standard of food or the service. The food was just about acceptable but the surly waitresses and slovenly table service quite frankly was not - it felt as though the entire workforce had been given their P45s just before we arrived. In a city where most restaurants serve pretty similar menus we ate far far better versions of the same dishes during out time in Venice. Fortunately we happened upon Al Nono on our first evening so things got much better from that point on. Had it been the other way around and us ended our break there then the surly sisters would have certainly put a dampener on things. We certainly won't be going back.

The restaurant has a really beautiful outdoor garden seating area. This and that the menu had authentic venetian dishes attracted us to make a reservation at this restaurant. The place was full of people as it was the night of Redentore. Me and the Venetian had an Antipasto of Pesce which was a bit of a disappointment. One sad sardina en saor, a bit of polenta with Bacala mantecato, a crostini with smoked salmon and some other bits. Everything lacked taste. The salad with tomatoes was okay. Then we had Spaghetti al nero die seppia and spaghetti alla busera. One was really dry and the other absolutely had no taste. This was a shame as both dishes normally are really flavourful. The Prosecco was fine. Service was also okay considering that every table was full of people. Overall we had a nice night, but were disappointed with the food.
