We are a family of 5 (3 teens) and we loved this place! It was very very pricey to eat and drink but worth every penny! It sits on its own island across the water from San Marco square- about 20 minutes by private JW Marriott boat. We booked two rooms- had our own wing! The service was the best we had in all of Italy. The family pool was a nice walk from the main hotel next to a field of sunflowers and gardens. There’s a beautiful adult pool on the roof. The gym was impeccable as well. From the moment you step foot into this hotel, you feel relaxed and welcomed! I’m a Marriott member and am very glad we picked this place for our stay in Venice!

The service and facilities were amazing. Everyone from the bell hop, to the kids club staff, to the grounds keepers; this place was amazing and kid friendly.
We especially enjoyed our interactions with the kids club staff (unbelievably patient with our kids), the Dispensa Deli staff, and the family pool staff. These people went out of there way to make our stay great. The manager, Carlos, was there to greet us and make sure we had a fantastic time. As a Marriott Gold memeber, they were very accommodating and the upgraded room was amazing.
From the arrival (at the James Bond dock), we were warmly greeted and wisked away in a golf cart for a tour of the grounds. Check in was easy and the room was even ready an hour before check in.
I had family staying at the same time in Venice, at a highly decorated hotel on the Grande Canal so we spent time at each other’s hotel. There was no doubt that the JW was the better choice on all accounts. The customer service, the amazing choices for food and drink, and the family amenities were amazing.
We will definitely be back.

Anyone who reviewed this hotel and didn’t love it is simply a spoiled grump. The people and level of service at this hotel is impeccable. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are so clean, beautiful, sunny and serviced multiple times a day. Particularly, we want to note the amazing bellmen who are so welcoming and accommodating and make you feel special and taken care of immediately upon arriving and genuinely seem empathetic when your stay is over.
Also, Albert is an amazing bartender and mixologist. We would highly recommend the complementary mixology masterclass offered to guests. It comes with a very thorough and informative, interactive lesson in cocktails and includes a complementary drink. Albert is so passionate about what he does and went way above and beyond running around the hotel for different items to make each unique cocktail he made us special and personalized. This was our second stay at the JW Marriott Venice, and we hope to be back again. Also, I should note that we used points for this stay as I travel a lot for work. While there is A LOT of money walking around this resort, never once did we feel treated differently because we were using points for the stay or had a different income level from the rest. Of course, I would recommend tippping, but the staff are genuinely appreciative when you do and never seem to expect it. Really, this is an amazing place. If you can do it, go!

We enjoyed two very comfortable rooms for 4 nights for our family of four (parents and two teenagers). Staff very welcoming and attentive, but never intrusive.

I had some trepidation about need for shuttle before we arrived -- but in the end we all decided the shuttles and water taxis across the lagoon helped us really feel the charm of Venice. It was fun to have dramatic entries to the city each day, and to enjoy the changing light on the water as we cruised the short ride back and forth.

Excellent breakfast buffet with long hours (to allow late mornings on vacation). Good food and wine at pool-side Sagra Rooftop restaurant. Very fun to sip cocktails in the infinity pool with views of Venice on the evening of our arrival from the States.

Our teenage boys enjoyed the garden pool and yard games between sight seeing and dinner.

The quiet charm of the Isola della Rose helped fuel us for our s days of wandering through Venice, Murano, and Burano (about 8 miles a day of wonderful walking through history and culture -- with so many great meals on offer in Venice and Murano).

We stayed on reward points, so were not sensitive to price. VERY thankful that even though we were staying on points, we were given a room upgrade to a junior suite over the "James Bond" private boat entrance, with a truly spectacular view of Venice across the Laguna.

Room Tip: Garden view of boys' room was pretty, but ask for a view of Venice over the lagoon

Unbelievable property. Gorgeous rooms and immaculate hotel grounds. About a 20 min shuttle ride to St. Marks from the hotel which operates every 30 minutes or so. It is about the only free service they offer on property, but I suppose that is expected with a JW.
