I contacted the hotel before booking, we needed a room with a double sofa bed for my teenage son, hotel replied saying most of the deluxe double rooms have double sofa beds. We arrived by water taxi which was amazing our flight landed at 6 and we were at the hotel by 7.

Check in was quick we were offered help with restaurants and trips but I booked all our activities myself. We were given room 306 a corner room with canal view, this room is the blue room in the hotel pictures, stunning room with big marble bathroom with bath and separate shower. The whole hotel is immaculately clean and smells amazing.

There was a fairly good choice of food at breakfast the eggs were a bit odd. It is a shame there isn’t a restaurant at the hotel but these are the only downsides to the hotel.

There is a co-op just across the bridge to get water and snacks and it’s about 10 minutes walk to St Marks Square.

Great how and will definitely recommend to friends.

The title says it all. As a graduate of the best hospitality school in the World in Switzerland, I can only say that this hotel is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in so far. Upon arrival, the man at the reception was extremely unfriendly, not a single smile, very cold atmosphere. No attention to the client, they literally check you in and take your money check you out, which is shocking.

They have no restaurant for lunch or dinner just some snacks at the bar... when I asked for bottles of water to the reception at night they said the bar is closed and that i should drink tap water, what kind of an answer is this? As I insisted I needed water and that this was unacceptable, the receptionist got us small bottles of water after long discussion, this is completely outrageous.

Last but not least, during check-out, the lady that worked there morning shift at 10:30- 11am on August 19 2019 was extremely rude. She didn’t know how to use the credit card for check out and yelled at the reception in a loud voice that the credit card was denied when she was the one who did a mistake, and even if supposedly there was an issue that is absolutely no way to speak to the client, as a graduate of the best hospitality school in the world I can say that this is absolutely unacceptable behavior to speak to the client, please train your staff better, she was very unprofessional.

Finally, the check out for the room was at 11 am, and we had booked the water taxi at 11:30. The same rude receptionist that worked there 10:30-11 am on August 19 2019 first told us that we could keep the room until the taxi came. As soon as we paid at the check out she out of nowhere says well if you can leave the room now it is better because I need it so take your luggage now: she literally kicked us out of the room until I told her that I wasn’t going to move until the taxi came as her behavior was unacceptable for 20 minutes extra to stay in the room. There is a way to speak to the client, you do not belong in the hospitality world, it is truly a disgrace to the hospitality industry the service you are providing.

More:
Rooms are dark not enough light
Only one shower carpet in the bathroom when we were three
Breakfast very basic, everyday the same menu
Rude staff
Unfriendly
Do not recommend at all

Dear Dal9594,

thanks again for having chosen our Hotel AI CAVALIERI DI VENEZIA for your stay in Venice.

We appreciate very much your detailed comments as they could help us to improve our services and quality, especially when written by a "graduate of the best hospitality school in the World in Switzerland".
We deeply regret that you not have been satisfied during your stay, but we are very irritated by your comments as we have no files that you have mentioned any of the above mentioned points during your stay.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, but our staff is well known for his hospitality, friendliness and professionality - the huge number of 922! excellent reviews and the Travellers Choice Award 2019 say it all!
You have received complimentary water, nobody has "kicked you out" from your room, nobody yelled or was rude. Our breakfast buffet, which offers a wide range of healthy and jummy products, is indeed very much appreciated by our international clients, as our snack menu and room service. As Restaurant for lunch & dinner, we recommend "Alle Corone" at our sister hotel AI REALI DI VENEZIA. The service we are providing is in line with our 4*S-standard and well recognized on Tripadvisor with 5 points "excellent".

Unfortunately we did not meet your expectations, but we hope to get the chance to welcome you again in Venice soon.

With best regards, your sincerely Sven Kornemann, General Manager

We spent 2 nights, I would have liked to spend a bit longer.
The hotel has such a varied decor throughout. The room was comfortable - nice plush and clean carpets, clean surroundings and lovely temperature control because there was a heatwave.

Room tip: City view may be better - we had rooftop views. It didn’t matter anyway!

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Ai Cavalieri very much. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful. One of the highlights was the fantastic breakfast. Here’s a pic of just a sampling of the buffet selection.
