“Excellent location, beautiful terrace and kind hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2011

Unfortunately, we only stayed for two nights. The appartment is ideally located (10 minutes to the centre or the station, bus stops, super market around the corner). It has everything you need and the beds are super comfortable. I especially need to mention the roof terrace - it is an oasis with loads of plants and privacy. Mrs and Mr Gheller are lovely hosts and do their upmost to help with any issues or information. Learn a little bit Italian though :)

We stayed at B&B Gheller and found it very charming, especially the tropical garden patio. The bathroom was in gleaming marble. The kitchen had a sink, stove, and little refrigerator stocked with water, coffee, milk, snacks, and breakfast food. We are hearty walkers and don't necessarily like being in the most touristy place, so we enjoyed the short walk to old town, to the train station, etc. It was also the right price for us and found the standards (air conditioner, blinds, hair dryer, etc) and charm a bargain.

The apt was a true gem in Verona. The owner provided lots of snack foods, beverages and breakfast. The apt's real jewel is the garden patio which is surrounded by plants. There is a sloping ceiling and tall people may have issues with the lower part of the ceiling. The apt is on the third floor and there is no elevator. The stairwell is wide and there are plenty of landings to rest. Nice bathroom. The owner is very helpful and the private parking spot was exceptional and very secure. The location is just outside the old city.

Arrived into Verona airport and got the bus from directly outside the airport to Verona Railway/Bus station. The bus was excellent value, clean and runs every 15/20 minutes. Arrived at B & B, the outside of the building does not look very inviting, but as soon as you get through the front door the building is very nice. Apartment is on the 3rd floor, no lift available, hence not suitable for people with mobility problems. The owner is very helpful, accommodating and friendly. The apartment is in the roof space of the building so has sloping ceilings. Tall people may have a problem with head height. There is a bedroom with a double and a single bed, kitchen area and a small dining area. Bathroom with shower, basin and w.c. Breakfast consists of cereal, yoghurt, juice, pastries, bread & selection of jams. Tea & Coffee. Owner also provided a large bottle of water each day, replenished the fridge and cleaned daily. All kitchen utensils available if you wanted to cook your own meal. Small roof top terrace which is a pleasant area to relax. Approx 8 minute walk to the Arena. Approx 8 minute walk to the railway station. Excellent restaurants and Bars near to the apartment. The city of Verona is beautiful, the cafe's and restaurants away from the main squares offer excellent food & wine, reasonably priced. All the little streets have something to offer - be warned, take comfey shoes. Enjoyed our stay in Verona enormously. Only thing I felt the little apartment lacked was a couple of comfy chairs to relax in.
