“Perfect location, warmly welcome, cosy and comfortable appartment”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

This appartment is perfectly located in the old area of Verona, Veronetta, surrounded by fantastic old houses , churches, just near the river bank; there is a nice superette nearby, restaurants, and walks; short distance to the centre and the historic centre of the town
We came for the Arena Festival and had a great time
The apartment is nicely furnitured and decorated, we had air conditioning very helpful in summer , the bathroom was huge!! we would have appreciated in the kitchen a microwave and a toaster but those were details compared to the pleasure we had during our stay in that flat
Mathia is a very good host, always at our disposal and eager to help
we'll come back soon, hopefully!

We had a great three week stay in this lovely apartment in April 2013 and were very warmly welcomed. We could not fault the cleanliness, location or any aspect of our accommodation other than the couch being a little too low for us 'old folks'. Very highly recommended! Mattia was a great host.

Ok, you usually get what you pay for. But for a budget price we stayed at this nice little gem, tucked right in the old town. I always choose my place based on location, often at a sacrifice of comfort, or decor, or my paycheck. But this room was spacious, cool (there in no air conditioner but a big occilating fan) and very tastefully designed. I liked the unfinished wooden ceiling and the simulated stone pillars left in the wall. (I am no designer, but they looked like stone to me, but I imagine they couldn't be right?) There was a lovely wooden dresser and mirror that looked like a really nice antique to me. Our room did not have a kitchen but we did have a little fridge. It is my understanding there are 2 and 3 room apartments that have kitchens if you would like to eat in some (but why?!?). I like the mix of old and new. Great bargain on the price.

Situated a stone's throw from the river, you can walk to the main sites in 5 or 10 minutes. FREE PARKING INCLUDED! For being in the heart of the city it was very quiet tucked on a small street right behind the main river road.

On top of all this, the best part was the management. When we arrived Mathia (I think he is the owner) met us in the parking lot, helped us with our baggage, and asked if we would like any suggestions for our stay in Verona. He showed us on a map everything we might like to visit and gave us his insider oppinion on where and where not to eat and drink. His suggestion on the local osteria's was perfect. We had a nice light dinner before the opera of great homecooked lasagna (I live in Italy and eat at mom and pop places a lot- this was great) at Osteria Sottorive. Told the waiter we loved it, that it was really good, and all he could say was "Yes, I know. It is REALLY really good" Mathia lives in an appartment on the premises himself and made us feel welcome to ask him for anything we needed. Also, he allowed our 10 pound dog to stay, very dog friendly town, but I would check with him to make sure this is permitted for your booking and your dog breed.

I almost hate giving such hidden gems away, because it might be fully booked on my return to Verona, but this place deserves to stay fully booked. You will be comfortable and well taken care of in the old town at this charming place! loved it, thanks!
