“The worst place I have ever stayed in years of traveling.”
Reviewed 5 October 2012

First off, my friend and I arrive to find no one there and no note. We are in an alley in very secluded area and no answer. Very scary! We rang a million times to no avail so we tried to call and got an answering machine. Shortly, thereafter Elena the owner arrived in a taxi. She was out to dinner and just got our message. We were only in Verona for one day and the next morning we asked if we could keep our luggage there so we could explore the city and were told "that is impossible". You can take it to the train and put it into storage. My first question, "do you have anyone checking in today?" Yes, we are full. We would come back at whatever time will work for you to pick up our luggage and put our luggage in any corner. "That is impossible." We will pay for a night in the hotel. "That is impossible". So, we then asked for a cab which was not easy in this area since it is in a secluded area. Elena left us there with her mother who did not speak English. This poor lady tried very hard to understand what was going on and I must say was very nice in trying to help us. She called a minimum of 10 times trying to get a cab service on the phone for us. Meanwhile Elena left us on the street with our luggage as we had to leave at 10:30 since she had people checking into our room. To top it off when we finally did get a cab, the cab driver told us that he had brought others to the inn to find she was not there and he had to call her for them. So, we were not the only ones who experienced this. P.S. The breakfast was even bad. the fruit bowl literally had 3 pieces of fruit in it and no other people stayed in the inn that night.
Horrible Horrible experience...do not wish having to deal with Elena on anyone!!!!

From the moment I booked Bagolina, I knew it was going to be great. Elena, the owner, is so helpful and lovely, she made the whole experience just great. The b and b is stylish (with beautiful furniture) and spotlessly clean - we had a larger room and all the space we needed for a great 5 night break. The bed was AMAZING! We have never slept so well! And there was air-conditioning too, which was welcome, particularly at night when we boiled!
The breakfasts were delicious - my husband never eats fruit and thoroughly enjoyed it every morning! Elena couldn't be more friendly and helpful. She was a great morning companion and told us all the places to eat and all the places we should visit. We bought a 5 Day Verona Card which meant we could get into all the main attractions AND all our bus journeys for 30 euros - which is a massive saving.
Bagolina isn't in Verona itself - it's in Perona, 15 mins on the bus (the stop is opposite) which runs every 30 mins. We actually enjoyed going on it, but if buses aren't you're thing, it's about 16 euro in a taxi - which we did a few times, particularly at night. Verona is just wonderful - cool, sophisticated, great atmosphere and the opera is out of this world.
All in all, it was just perfect - we loved it. It was clean, romantic, friendly and just lush. We'll definitely go again! Elena - you're great!

We have had a wonderful weeks holiday at The Bagolina Apartment. It's called a B&B, but it's not, it's actually a proper hotel with a couple of self catering apartments for guests that like their independence. it even has a lift. It's been beautifully renovated and decorated, and had very comfortable beds, brilliant shower and a well equipped kitchenette. There is a lovely courtyard that guests can use, or dine in. We loved the location, there are some lovely walks along the river bank, local restaurants and cafes are cheaper too because it's 10 minutes from the centre. It is only a ten minute bus journey into the centre of Verona. We had day trips to Venice, the winery's, Dolomites, Lake Garda, Manitova and Sirmione was lovely, and we ate at 2 excellent restaurants both a short walk away, The Trattoria and Dolce Gusto.
2 great cafes were directly accross the road, great for a glass of wine or a coffee or light lunch.
Elena, the owner is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for her.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room overlooking the lovely courtyard.

When I originally booked this B&B I thought we would be driving so it probably would have been much more convenient that way. It was a little bit of a ride from the train station, but not too far away. Elena, the owner of the B&B was very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable. And the shower was great! It did not flood the whole bathroom like so many of the others did in Italy. There was a courtyard area where breakfast was served in the morning.

I originally pictured this B&B to be located on the countryside with a nice view of the land. Probably just my own misconception, but it was actually located in a very nice suburb of Verona called Perona. The bus stop was just across the street so it was easy enough to get into town, but a bit difficult to figure out where to get out. On the way home our cab driver could not find the place and drove around in circles until he called Elena.

I just can't seem to get over the location on this one.....too far from the city. Once we were in for the night we were rather isolated. Also, the "free internet" did not extend to inside our rooms. But if you have a car or don't mind a long bus ride, this is a nice place to stay.

Thanks again to tripadvisor another fabulous accomodation, a little bit out of the center of Verona but still very easy to access. This loverly B&B is modern with every facility whilst still holding a wonderful charm from its past. The owner and host Elena was so attentive to our needs and provided us daily with tips and advise on our plans and also on wonderful local restaurants to dine at. The breakfasts were a treat and a great start to each day. We found this to be a great accommodation for Verona and would recommend it as an ideal place to stay.

Granted this place is slightly out of the centre of Verona but its just wonderful. The woman who owns this establishment and I apologise but I can't remember her name is very helpful, kind and always smiling. The room we had was overlooking the courtyard where you have breakfast. It was really smart, all very 'white company' if people know what I mean. The bathroom was great, spacious and a powerful shower. The breakfast was delicious, a mix of cereals, fresh fruit and pastries. If you don't want to be slap bang in the middle of Verona and be in a quite area within walking distance of Verona down the river this is the place to go! Also a little tip, there is a Deli opposite the B+B which does brilliant lunches and amazing coffee!

Room Tip: Room overlooking courtyard is great!

We spent four nights from 26th June at the Bagolina. It was perfect. Our host Elena was very helpful, spoke excellent english and our breakfasts delicious. The B&B was stylish but informal and the atmosphere very relaxing. We would certainly recommend this to all our friends and family.

Room Tip: overlooking the courtyard would be best
