“Pretty bad!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013 via mobile

My partner and I stayed here for one night to catch the train early morning the next day. We arrived to a lady at the reception who spoke barely any english. Shown to our room and immediately tried to connect to the wifi which was blocked but had asked and was told it didn't work. This should not be advertised if they don't have it! quick walk into town and a very good pizzeria called Bella Napoli down the road. Bed was very uncomfortable and everytime you moved the bed would squeaked very loudly allowing us to get barely any sleep! The place is very noisy especially if you get the room next to the bathroom as throughout the night you can hear people dropping the kids off at the pool which is quite disturbing whilst your trying to sleep! Wait it gets even better! Breakfast includes stale bread, off milk and no proper bowls for your cereal. Not worth staying even for one night! Look elsewhere

La Divina B&B

La Divina is conveniently located with access to the main square and arena as well as the train station. The location is this B&B's best feature.

When we arrived it took a little while to raise someone to let us in (despite the fact we had emailed ahead of time to let them know when we would be arriving) and when we did our room was not ready and there appeared to be some confusion about our reservation. We left to let the manager finish preparing and cleaning- he had requested that we back at a certain time to that he could have a break. It was another 15 minutes or so before it was ready after arriving back at the appointed time.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was two shared bathrooms for four rooms, which we were prepared for; unfortunately we weren't prepared for two of the rooms to be filled with two families! Mornings were a bit chaotic with legs crossed. One of the bathrooms had no toilet seat, and there wasn't handsoap in one of the bathrooms. The breakfast consisted of plastic cheese slices, bread, Melba toast, chocolate cereals and yogurt. Filled the hole, but a bit disappointing in a land of amazing cheeses and bread.

We were asked not to place anything on the second bed in our room so that it would be ready for another guest. A bit difficult in a small room that does not contain a suitcase stand.

La Divina has potential, but just misses a few beats.

Room Tip: Might be a good idea to bring earplugs and hand soap.

This hotel was in a good location- very close walking distance to the main sights (five minute walk to the castelvecchio and arena). The rooms were very clean as were the shared bathrooms. However, the owner seemed very unenthusiastic and the breakfast was VERY disappointing. The price was also very steep- this could have been because there was an opera that night- but still I do not think it was worth the hefty price tag.

Stayed only one night in fair Verona, and the Divina B&B was the perfect spot. Easy walk from the train station, and only 200m from the Arena. Great local pizzeria (Bella Napoli) a few steps away. First experience with the shared apartment, but didn't even see the other guests. Staff was friendly and informative on what to see and where, given our limited timeframe. Perfect for backpackers or couples traveling light.

Room Tip: Family room was large and comfortable.

To start with it is inconvenient having to telephone the owner when you're standing at the front door, 15 minutes later an employee arrives. It is a very strange arrangement, being a converted apartment In a residential building. There are 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. This place is NOISY. You could hear a mouse squeak from the other side of the "hotel". As other reviewers state: the walls are paper thin. Also every door handle and lock creaks and clanks. In the morning everyone, no matter what room they are in, can hear what's going on in the kitchen. And obviously there are no staff on site, so all this becomes a HUGE problem when some guy brings back a prostitute to his room and go at it for 4 hours. I have stayed in plenty of shared accommodation but this takes the cake for 'Dodgiest Joint'. Unless you are looking at going homeless for the night, STAY WELL AWAY!
Oh, and they ran out of toilet paper.

Room Tip: All rooms are noisy. Better to spend a bit more and get some sleep and security.

That's what you would expect from a B&B: a clean room, and a reasonable breakfast. That's what you get from Divina. Location is good, in the middle of the path from Verona's train station and the Arena. Quadruple room is pretty large and comfortable. The two shared bathrooms were clean. It was my first experience with shared bathrooms, it is a little bit different from having your own one. In this case, there are just 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms, not bad. There is a kitchen and a room for the breakfast, with everything you need to prepare a pretty good one. Prices in Verona are pretty high, making Divina a good option to stay closer, even if the price does not sound "budget". The only down side was the TV that was not working. As we spent just one night, I have not even asked for it. I heard that another rooms was also having the same problem. Besides that, everything was fine.

Room Tip: Quadruple room is enormous, with a Queen and two twin beds.

This was really nice place and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. We stayed for 2 nights. Room were nice, modern and clean.

There is little problem with electricity (if you have microwave and AC running, making hot water, then the electricity goes out)
Stuff - a nice guy, could use a bit more english training for sure.
For me it was also a little problem, that i couldnt pay with my card, they take only cash.
Check in was a little crazy too - there are two places, you are supposed to check in the other one.. its rather confusin.

On the other side, as I said, rooms were nice, breakfast was really good too.. location is great.

If you are a little hesitant, go for it :)
