we arrived at the hotel mid afternoon and were welcomed by one of the staff, our room wasn't quite ready so we were given free drinks while we waited, when the owner returned he was very nice and spoke good english, he told us there was no dinner service that night as he had a wedding reception but he advised us of a good place to eat, when we got to our room which was very pleasant and modern with a balcony we realized the air con was not working, we were told this was being fixed on monday (two days later) as it was 35 degrees it made for a couple of restless nights, this was something that was beyond the owners control so we couldn't lay any blame on him as it was broken and it was the weekend, when we returned from dinner the wedding was in full swing complete with live band that didn't finish playing while 3.30am!!! the next night the owner opened the kitchen just for us and the quality of the food had us totally forgiving him for the noise, it was possibly the best food we had in our whole trip, the owner explained to us that the rooms he lets come secondary to his restaurant business as this gives him an income all year round and i can totally understand this, he gave us some good advice about where to park in verona free and told us all the sights to see, we had dinner again on our last night and it was amazing again, the owner told us all about his pig farming business and how he sources all local food and it really shows in the quality of the food and the prices are a lot better than the tourist traps in the city, this is real authentic italian cuisine, the nice food coupled with the working air con made the last night we stayed perfect, the hotel seems a million miles away from anywhere with its quietness and beautiful views and surroundings but it is literally a 10-15 min drive to central verona. if you are thinking of booking here i would definitely recommend it for the food alone but please be aware there may be other functions going on while you are there. p.s. try the home made risotto with pork, out of this world!!

Room Tip: any room with a balcony is good,

We were four guys doing a whirlwind tour of northern Italy in a rented car. For our Verona stop my friend booked us at il Porcellino and my first thought, as we spent 15 minutes driving along narrow roads up a mountainside was, “Dude, what the hell man, we’re not even in the city!”. Turns out it was worth it, all of us thought the place was really good.

We had a room for the four of us (double bed and bunk beds) but everything looked new and the room was really clean, it also had a small balcony. Hot water was plentiful and all of us were able to have hot showers. Since you're on the top of the mountain the view was great, at night it reminded one of my friends of the view from the Hollywood sign looking down at the lights in the plain below.

We had dinner there that night and it was like a top-end Italian restaurant -- homemade pastas, nice wines, the owner even threw in a plate of capicolla (from pigs raised on the farm) as a starter. Since there was only us and one other couple staying at the hotel I figured we would be the only ones eating at a restaurant but later that evening numerous couples showed up from the city to eat there. We ate at a table outside so the farm's dog would sit beside us with big soulful eyes hoping for capicolla too (lol).

We then went into Verona later that evening, since we had a rented car a 15 minute drive down the mountainside was really not that big of a deal.

This place is not easy to find. Make sure you have a map ready or GPS when trying to find it.

If you’re tired of staying in busy cities and looking for a place near Verona where you can relax and unwind this is definitely it.

For Location I put "average" because if you want the countryside then it's excellent but if you want to be in the heart of Verona then this isn't the place for you.

We camped at Il Porcellino for 2 nights and visited Verona and Venice during this time. A wonderful location for campers with tents or camper vans who would like some peace and quiet. The bathroom is very clean and we could easily manage washing up etc. The restaurant is also of excellent quality and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal we had there. Fulvio and his family are very easy-going and helpful - we are very impressed.

Thank you, Fulvio - we'll come again!

We stayed here for 2 nights and would highly recommend. It is quite difficult to find, but has amazing views of Verona. Fulvio, the owner was most obliging, helpful and at all times available to offer help. He also has very good English which was great as we didn't have that much Italian. The rooms are basic but very clean and excellent value for money. The a la carte menu is well worth sampling. All dishes are some derivative of pork! produced from the many pigs that he farms organically. I have never tasted pork quite like it and I don't particulaly like pork. It seems to be quite a popular restaurant venue as many people came for dinner while we were there. Verona is just a short drive away but you do need a car. Highly recommend this venue and particularly impressed with value for money.

Probably the highest located agroturism hotel near Verona. They have almost everything for independent lifestyle, I.e.
Vine, pork, chicken, horses, sheeps, olives :)
