The location of Guest House Castelvecchio is brilliant! Right next to the centre of Verona (very easy to get around to all the sights) and close to a supermarket, bakery, and (for the late night arrivals) McDonalds! It's located in what appears to be an apartment block, and the owner couldn't do more to help us, providing us with maps and help and advice for our stay.

The kitchen area was gorgeous, very homely and provided everything you could possibly ask for - they also provided extra food in the fridge, despite only breakfast being included in the price!

The twin room was very clean and decorated beautifully, I've never felt more comfortable! The bathrooms were spacious and clean.

I couldn't have asked for more from this B&B and will be staying here when I return to Verona, without a doubt!

Small, conveniently located, amazingly friendly staff, and very helpful! The places is very clean, the bathroom is very clean, there is a small kitchen available to use if you want to cook on your own, or ask for a suggestion of a restaurant!

Definitely recommend staying here, as it was a blast!

Room Tip: Book ahead of time as it's probably cheaper!

I stayed at this B&B at the beginning of February and three things immediately grabbed me - the place itself, the incredibly hospitable owner Giulia, and the location. I was absolutely amazed at the homy atmosphere of the place. Everything was just perfect - clean, tidy, with all the facilities one can ask for, including a coffee machine that grinds the coffee just before pouring a superb cup of coffee. Giulia is very well-informed about events, places, etc. and speaks great English. She is friendly and caring and has equipped the living room with various brochures on almost everything to be seen in Verona and around. And finally, the location is within walking distance to everything - the Arena, the Railway station, the house and tomb of Guiletta, the Castel Vecchio. Whenever I go to Verona I would first check availability with Giulia. In fact, on my next trip the end of June (to see the operas Don Giovanni e Carmen) I am to stay again with her. She is the QUEEN OF ITALIAN HOSPITALITY and I really mean it!

I really enjoyed my stay, the hotel is clean, nice, comfortable with nice family atmosphere. Although located in the center, the street itself is quiet. It`s also close to the train/ bus station (1o mins walking), so perfect conection to the airport. I can only recomend!

We stayed at this B and B for three nights in the second half of July 2011. The location is excellent, especially for those who plan to see an opera at the Arena, like we did. We went to see "Aida" that ended around 1.00 am. We just walked back to the B&B , it is a 5 minute walk. You can also practically walk to the hotel from the train station, it will take about 20 minutes. This B& B is on the second floor of an apartment building, there is an elevator. The hostess, Giulia, is a very welcoming and helpful young lady. She showed all the points of interest in the city, suggested places to eat, where to go and what to see. She also gave us 3 keys, one from the room, another from the front door and a third key that lets you into the building. There is a self-service breakfast and you can take advantage of a fully equipped kitchen, as well. There are a microwave, a stove, a fridge, plates and pots. One can cook either lunch or dinner there. The big supermarket "Pam" is around the corner. The rooms have no air conditioner, but there is a big fan that was cooling. The nights were not that hot anyway. The sheets can be changed every day if you want. I think that the best two features of this place are location and the kitchen. There is a free wi-fi available, which was awesome. If you dont have a way to connect using your own device, there is a computer that is always connected to the internet that one can use at any time. I also liked a little balcony. The view is nothing to talk about, but it is a quiet little street of Verona, nevertheless. I found beds to be comfortable and towels sufficiently soft. Although we had to share the bathroom with other people, we never actually ran into anyone there. It was a very good deal for the money. If you are on a budget, I think it is a great place to stay in Verona.
PS: My son forgot his watch in the room when we left. I wrote an email to Giulia and asked her if she could mail the watch to us, and she immediately answered me that she would. I thought that was very nice of her.
