We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights.Friendly staff, nice rooms . But aircondition stand on the floor near the bed,so i couldnt sleep with it,because it was then too cold. One more negative thing- no free wifi. But i recommend this hotel,is very nice.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 night, late September 2013. We arrived about 30 minutes early and so had to wait until 2pm to check in, which I guess is fair enough but the hotel was no where near full so we did hope to be able to check in a little earlier. However the receptionist was friendly enough and provided us we a map and direction to the town centre. The room itself was at the front of the hotel and was Ok but perhaps could do with a bit of updating but the bed was reasonably comfortable.

My main concern however was that as we were at the front of the hotel the noise from the main road outside was clearly audible even with the windows closed and the curtains drawn. I did consider asking to be moved but having read previous comments from the hotel on Trip Advisor I got the distinct impression that if you booked via an agent (Booking.com in our case) and not directly with the hotel then you got what you were given, a case in point is that the wifi is free for direct bookings but a charge of 5 euros is levied for people who booked through an agent.

On a positive note the breakfast was very good and the location is reasonable, it's just a shame about the inadequate noise insulation from the main road.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 109 unless you like road noise. A room at the back of the hotel is probably a...

Dear guest,
thank for your positive review.
I will let immediately check the window of your room cause for sure it has a problem.
All rooms that are on the front side are totally soundproof and usually you can see the traffic outside without hearing any noise.
Sorry for the inconvenient, you should have asked to change the room. We always change the room of our guests if there are some problems with another room of the same type whether they have booked though an agent or directly...
Guests for us are all the same, just for direct guests some extras are included cause we don't have to pay agents' fees.
Thank you

We stayed at this hotel one night. It's 20 min walking from the city center and the receptionist was very nice giving us directions and a map.
The room was , somehow, disappointing- everything looked old, the aspect was closer to a motel than a hotel.
One has to pay 5 euros for the wifi ( really? Is 21st century, guys!!!).

Dear guest,
to cover a huge building like an hotel with a wifi connection involves to use expensive techical equipement (not like at home where a little router is enough).
We want to sell our rooms at the lower price, so we make the other services as extras.
By the way... Since 2014 wifi connection will be free
Thank you

We booked this hotel for one night only. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Good for the price, however, the receptionist that checked us in was incredibly rude, we were thrown our keys and sent to the room, with no minimal orientation. When we asked about check out times and wifi access, we were lucky enough to even get a reply at all. Also, the room has double doors opening to a corridor and then a window, I believe it to be for smokers, however, the only thing separating our part from the next room was a glass type partition which only went half way, which meant that later on I was lying on my bed and someone from the next room popped their head and saw me, which left me a bit uncomfortable and also a little scared :( Honestly, will not book this hotel again and will not recommend it to anyone I know!

Dear guest,
I'm very sorry that you have had such a problem with our receptionist at your arrival.
I would appreciate so much if you could write me an email at manager@hotelsverona.it to explain me better what has happened so that I can do something about!
These things makes me really angry!
About the other thing: some rooms have a balcony in common with the next one. You have one of that. There is a barrier of matt glass between the 2 sides of the balcony that can't be overcome, so no reasons to be scared.
Thank you, I wait for your letter please.

Spent one night here for a stopover to see Verona on the way to Malcesine.
Room was small but clean and neat. Staff very friendly.
The Restaurant attached was brilliant, I had a pizza called 'Steve Mcqueen'!! and reasonably priced. Not sure I would stay again though as it was about 20 minutes walk to the town centre.

This is a very finicky hotel - make sure you pay attention to the fine print! We booked our stay through Expedia, only to find out upon check-in that breakfast and free wifi is only available to guests that use the hotel's website to book their stay. The hotel advertises a free shuttle to the train station, but the shuttle only operates during certain hours of the day, so we had to take a cab to and from the station. Our room was very small, but we had a great balcony with a fantastic view of the community pool and surrounding countryside. The A/C was not adjsutable (either on or off), so it got pretty cold at night, despite the heat outside, and the fan was VERY loud. Overall, I wouldn't stay at the Porta Palio again.

Room Tip: If you're staying here, book directly through the hotel's website - you'll get a bigger...

Dear Guest,
as I always suggest to everyone that like you has have problem with a travel agency: book directly your hotel!
Nobody can be efficient satisfying your needings as the hotel itself!
Travel agencies manages thousands of hotel in different countries. For this reason they must use standard information that are very often difficult to understand.
We sell throught the travel agency some rooms with breakfast included and some others with breakfast excluded at a cheaper price. If you want to book by yourself of course you must be careful and read the travel conditions not to have bad surprises...
About the shuttle service: it is free (!) and it works from 10 am to 7pm. 99% of our guests arrive in this range of time. Of course you must not forget that we are a budget hotel, we give a very good free service! Of course we can't offer it 24h a day, cause the price of our rooms would be higher and we want to offer to our guests always the best price.
Thank you
