“Very good for the price!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

It was really difficult to find a good but cheap place in Verona. I was a bit scared as the the cleanliness but was well surprised. The rooms are spacious, there are lots of towels, toiletries, shower a bit small but extremely clean! Great, since this was our first stop.

Aircon was in the correct place and set the exact right temp but it all worked. The bed was large and very comfy. We watched some Italian MTV and got to know the top 10 tunes of Italy before going to bed.

It is not central to Verona but a 20~30 minute walk to the centre where all the stuff is going on.

Room Tip: Not sure, there are a lot of rooms. We had on with the view on the torrential rain canal. It was 100...

Thank you very much for your wonderful review dear Piotr.
Your comment testify as the satisfaction of our guests it is always a matter of expectations.
You came in our Hotel Porta Palio not sure if you would be fine, so you were not having big expectations, but finally you have been very positively impressed. This means that for our category and price we offer a really good service.
Some of our guests come in our budget simple 3 stars hotel expecting a level of luxury and service totally unjustified with respect to our class and our price range. These few guests ruin our average score complaining about unsatisfactory services, without considering that providing services has an high cost and that you can not pay little for the room and have a 5 star service.
So for us it is a pleasure to give 5 stars to a guest so correct and smart like you dear Piotr!

Especially for opera lovers in summer this is great location at fantastic price and complementary shuttle bus service to the opera and back. Have stayed there for several opera trips already, have no intent to look further! Also free car parking provided with easy access!

Room Tip: Try to get river view rooms and top floors

I stayed in this hotel on a short trip to beautiful Verona to attend summer Opera series. Room & breakfast was good - clean, bright with friendly staff. I had to wait for almost an hour to check in - they are strict with the access time! However the real bonus was the hotel shuttle to & from the Opera - left us within 2 mins of the theater and collected after the show after midnight. It would have been impossible to get a taxi due to the crowds. Very convenient for the city centre for normal day access, close enough to main train station also. I would stay here again.

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for your kind and positive review, we really appreciate it!
During the Opera season our guests enjoy to sleep till late cause opera ends late night, so we can start cleaning the rooms later and we finish very close to the scheduled check in time of 2 pm.
What we care about the most is to give to every single guest a perfectly cleaned room within the set time. When it is possible we let the guests access the room a little bit before.
Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel to be very good as was the adjoining restaurant. Wild outside colour with art deco feel but easy to find. Staff helpful, room clean, modern and quiet despite main road. Good value. Take number 11 bus, just round the corner, to centre/arena, 1.5 euro (need change for on board machine)

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights.Friendly staff, nice rooms . But aircondition stand on the floor near the bed,so i couldnt sleep with it,because it was then too cold. One more negative thing- no free wifi. But i recommend this hotel,is very nice.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 night, late September 2013. We arrived about 30 minutes early and so had to wait until 2pm to check in, which I guess is fair enough but the hotel was no where near full so we did hope to be able to check in a little earlier. However the receptionist was friendly enough and provided us we a map and direction to the town centre. The room itself was at the front of the hotel and was Ok but perhaps could do with a bit of updating but the bed was reasonably comfortable.

My main concern however was that as we were at the front of the hotel the noise from the main road outside was clearly audible even with the windows closed and the curtains drawn. I did consider asking to be moved but having read previous comments from the hotel on Trip Advisor I got the distinct impression that if you booked via an agent (Booking.com in our case) and not directly with the hotel then you got what you were given, a case in point is that the wifi is free for direct bookings but a charge of 5 euros is levied for people who booked through an agent.

On a positive note the breakfast was very good and the location is reasonable, it's just a shame about the inadequate noise insulation from the main road.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 109 unless you like road noise. A room at the back of the hotel is probably a...

Dear guest,
thank for your positive review.
I will let immediately check the window of your room cause for sure it has a problem.
All rooms that are on the front side are totally soundproof and usually you can see the traffic outside without hearing any noise.
Sorry for the inconvenient, you should have asked to change the room. We always change the room of our guests if there are some problems with another room of the same type whether they have booked though an agent or directly...
Guests for us are all the same, just for direct guests some extras are included cause we don't have to pay agents' fees.
Thank you
