The Grand Hotel was a nice very surprise! We didn't know what to expect when we booked -- our criteria was a good location and close to the train. It is a short walk to the train and to the Arena and everything you want to see in Verona. The hotel experience was like stepping back in time for atmosphere but did not lack modern conveniences. The rooms are small but quiet and comfortable and the staff is very helpful. They provide an excellent breakfast buffet and the service is what you would expect from any first class hotel. We highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for something different from the big chains but don't want to give up the expected level of service big chains provide.
