“Worst parking experience”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

The parking lot is two blocks away in basement. You have to ask the staff open the door and is very difficult get in and out. The reception desk stuffs like to argue with customer to make their job function justifiable.

Room Tip: Inconvenient to go anywhere except window shopping by foot in neighborhood

Dear Mr. Charles,
I am very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay in our property and I kindly ask you to contact me to explain what happened with reception staff (my e-mail address is: direzione@hotelaccademiaverona.it).
Hotel Accademia is situated in the historical centre and is one of the rarest hotels in Verona with a spacious garage just 200 metres from the main building. We chose to escort all guests to our garage in order to guarantee the safety of their own and of all other parked cars.
We understand that it could be inconvenient driving into the city centre but, on the other hand, it offers the opportunity to be near the most important monuments, museums and tourist attractions.
I remain at you complete disposal with
Best Regards

This Hotel has pulled out all stops to make customers feel 'at home'. The Staff are all very helpful and always attend to any request immediately. Breakfast is superb with every conceivable item one could wish for. There is a kettle in the room, but also complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits and cake throughout the day until late afternoon. The Restaurant has an early Buffet meal for Opera goers and a rather limited a la carte menu if preferred.. Location is central to all main attractions within easy flat walking distance. Rooms are decorated in a somewhat dated style but beds very comfortable and bathrooms have a supply of toiletries and slippers. Free WiFi worked very well, also two computers and printers available for guests to use. I look forward to returning.

I had a Superior Room, so that may influence the review a bit. The hotel is elegant, stylish, centrally located to the interesting sites of Verona, with a staff that seems dedicated to superior service. The room was spacious and well-appointed with free Wi-Fi, in room coffee, sitting & work areas, and a large/clean/comfortable bed. I liked the tall ceiling and windows and the spacious shower. The property is easy walking distance to the Arena, Duomo, and lots of shopping and restaurants. Be sure to visit Piazza Signore. It’s about a 10 minute cab ride (around 10 euro) from Porta Nuova train station. I would give the property a 5 except for a few factors. First, it seemed difficult to get room service. There was no menu in the room, and the restaurant didn’t open until 7:30PM. Second, the carpeting throughout the hotel needs replacement – it is worn in many places and this reflects poorly on the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, but not great in comparison to other properties I’ve stayed at throughout Italy. I went 10 minutes after it was open, and the hot dishes were still not served. At a minor level, the in-room coffee was instant (not Nespresso or equivalent), and the key system is ancient (an actual key, which is not a secure system, connected to a hefty metal ball). None of these issues were critical, but they separate a 5 from a 4 rating. Overall, I was very pleased with the historic and stylistic qualities of the property, and would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is the way a four-star hotel should be: discreet, elegant, centrally located and professionally run.
Situated in the centre of historic Verona, the Accademia surpassed our expectations.
Perfect location, just a few minutes' walk to the Arena at one end and the Piazza delle Erbe at the other. Our room was relatively large, well appointed and comfortable, even though the view was of the (ancient) walls of the next foor building. The service was always attentive and professional, and there is a well -equipped mini gym on the very top floor.
Then there is the hospitality: breakfast is a massive affair, with seemingly endless choices, including sparkling wine for those who need a bit of an early kick. Then from 10.30 am on, there is free coffee and pastries in an adjacent room, with "welcome drinks" thrown in for good measure in the afternoons, near the lobby bar.
Recommended.

We have just returned from a seven night stay at this lovely hotel in the centre of Verona's Cita Antica. The Accademia is conveniently located for all the major attractions. The hotel was immaculately clean, the staff absolutely delightful and helpful and the rooms exceptionally comfortable. The whole hotel has a lovely ambience. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a good variety of hot and cold dishes and a plentiful supply of tea, coffee, fruit juice and water. The fourth-floor gym is moderately-sized but well-equipped, even having a couple of sun loungers on the balcony, its own shower room and some comfortable couches for the less active to relax on. I would not consider staying anywhere else on a return trip to Verona and would recommend this hotel to anyone. I don't believe it can be bettered.

We just stayed at this hotel last week for three nights and we were very happy with our choice. The room was lovely and the king bed was quite comfortable. There were room darkening curtains for sleeping. The bathroom was lovely with a nice big shower. The location couldn't be any better. You can walk everywhere. They offer juice and water and light munchies in the lobby in the afternoon which is a nice touch. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is reasonable (10 euro per person) and plentiful, but just okay in terms of quality. We tried it the first morning. The other two days, we went to a lovely cafe around the corner for breakfast. We were very impressed with Verona and would definitely chose Accademia again and recommend it to our friends.
