“Affordable business hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

Stayed there for a night on my business trip few months ago. Hotel team speaks good German and English. Neat and cozy room.Excellent breakfast.

No comments on the location as I was traveling with business partners in car - so difficult to say if it closer to the city center or any attractions.

we trained to Verona for our anniversary. The location of this hotel was great, very close walking distance to the train & bus for commuting around Verona.
We were greeted witha nice smiling face at the front desk, our room was asigned and we were politely directed to our room.

The room was a typical room but the light fixture was beautiful, made of Venician glass.

We had breakfast in the dining room each morning witch was ample and served buffet style.
This was a rather unique hotel in the way of it was actually 2 hotels in one. There were 2 front desks, two enterences, two front desk clerks. Almost like a mirrored image. Something we'd not seen before.
No safebox in our room but the front desk had lockboxes available at no charge.

We located this hotel, then checked it's reviews on Trip Advisor!

Room Tip: Our room was fine for us, It was not anything special but clean, quiet and comfortable! We spend mo...

The Hotel is very close to the Station which in itself can be reached by Aero-bus direct from the Airport, cost 6 euro each way. The Hotel is opposite the Post sorting office but the windows at the front are well glazed, we had a superior room, with a large bed. They provided chocolates on the pillow at night, slippers and a guide to Verona. The staff were very helpful and all spoke good English. Breakfast was continental included, there were cereals, Breads, Cakes and fruit so more than enough. We slept well, although the Air conditioning didn't really reduce the temperature down a lot. The location away from the main sites, is reflected in the price. Therefore the hotel is really good value for money, if you don't mind walking that bit further to the centre, about 1 mile to the arena. We were there on a bank holiday and it should be noted that the buses did not run but the main attractions in the town were open. Nothing is too expensive except the first courses which are sometimes 9-10 euros. Pizzas start from 5 euros and can be shared with a salad at lunchtime leaving plenty of space for a big dinner. Drinks are good prices. Try the smaller coffee shops off the main walkways and you'll find some gems.

Room Tip: May be better to have room at back which overlooks parking area, greener and away from road. No pool...

Yes, it is not romantic neither located in the city center. So why 5*? because it met our high expectations. Location - 10 min of relaxed walk from railway station. Good services and nice, clean rooms. Free Internet although not the fast enough.... Breakfast has typical, but good variety of food: Yogurt, cheese, sausages , cornflakes and pastry, plus we liked cappuccino and Mociato
Parking is available and protected, they have bicycles to rent for free, which we found to be very useful if you need to go to city. Overall recommended.

Tips: Do not ask them to order you pizza from the usual restaurant - pizza is horrible.
There are no restaurants and stores nearby - so to dine out, you need to go to city.

Have just returned from a lovely four night short break in and around Verona. We chose this hotel for its proximity to the railway and bus stations. OK it might not be the most salubrious of areas but its charm and the staffs attention to detail make up for it. On our arrival (late morning) our room was not quite ready so we waited 10-15 minutes and were offered, as it turned out complimentary drinks from the bar. Our room number 105 with a view toward the rear was spacious with a newly renovated bathroom, yes the loo and shower cubicle were a tad close together but heck you've room to move around in there. Room and cleaning was first class with fresh towels every day even when not asked for and the bed linen was changed on the third day. Breakfast was perfectly adequate with a good selection to choose from, my one and only gripe was that the coffee was not hot enough and very quickly cooled primarily because it is served in a small open topped jug, but tell them and they very soon remedy this faux pa. An absolute must is the Verona card ideal for getting around (free use of the bus transit system) locally and also free entry to many of the sites such as the Arena etc. it more than paid for itself. All in all I have no hesitation in recommending the Novo Hotel Rossi as a good base to explore what Verona has to offer.

Room Tip: We had requested a room on a high floor but most of these were being renovated so were given one on...

Ok, so some of the reviews have picked up on the negative aspects of this hotel, but for the money, in the city, and the quality of service we got I find it very difficult to complain...

It's a three star hotel about 25 mins walk from the historical city of Verona so its walkable. It is also only 4 mins or so from the bus and train station so ideal as a good base. The area can be considered salubrious...there were a few women hanging around outside and we had to walk past a crowd of homeless people on the way back in the evening through a cut through, which was a little scarey, but nothing happened....its just not tantamount to the holiday vibe.. the other problem is that there are no shops or restaurants near the hotel so you can't just nip out for some food. Knowing that beforehand from the reviews we allowed for that.

The only other negative I can comment on was the positioning of the toilet against the shower. It was actually quite comical after a while. My husband and myself are not overly big, but anyone carrying a little bit too much Christmas weight would struggle to use that toilet easily. You are literally pressed up against the shower cubicle when on the toilet....on the other side with plenty of room is that often used bidet ; ) and I couldn't help wondering why didn't they switch them around....

Anyway, on to the positives.
The receptionists were all very friendly, very helpful and courteous and could not fault them. We asked for two extra pillows one morning and when we got back in the evening when they gave us our key they confirmed the pillows were now in our room. They gave us directions on how to get into the town, and offered to keep back our luggage on the last day before our flight. They also gave us suggestions on places to go before we flew back (it was raining so wandering around Verona was not top of our choices..). We ended up a at a shopping outlet about 8 miles out (you need a car and a Sat nav to get there for sure!) which was nice as it was a Sunday and open, with free parking.
The room was clean and tidy, and had been freshly painted (it still smelt of paint.....) We were in room 304 on the third floor facing the park (rather than the other side that faces the railway line). I had specifically asked for a quiet room in advance and this had been noted and actioned for when we arrived. There was a mini bar in our room, not free, but did serve a purpose when caught out for drinks.

Wi-fi is free for an hour each day, per device, so you can both use phones/tablets rather than fighting over the hour between you...

There are umbrellas at reception for the guests to use when its raining.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and whilst continental was surprisingly fresh and lots to choose from. Fresh meats, cheeses, rolls, cakes and pastries, cereals, fruits etc and the coffee was server fresh by the lady manning the breakfast bar.

The hotel also has free parking, now how many hotels can you find in Verona that can offer that....

Walls can be a bit thin when hearing the pipework and showers, and if you had people each side, above and below it could be quite noisy, although we were hardly disturbed by it.

My other half was critical of the hotel because of the area surrounding it, but having just come from a 4 star hotel at twice the cost in Lake Garda, apart from location and size of room I couldn't find much between them. For the money I think this is a brilliant hotel in which to base your stay in Verona and would be more than happy to stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 304 is away from the lift and faces the gardens
