“Great hotel in an excellent location”
Reviewed 20 September 2011

My [single] room and en suite at Hotel Italia was very comfortable and quite spacious. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

The hotel is ideally placed about 5 minutes walk to the river where there are some beautiful views and another 5 minutes to the centre of the old part of the city. The hotel is also on very handy bus routes (tip: get a bus map from Tourist Information) and there is a supermarket just down the road.

The Hotel Italia was simply perfect. It is counted as a 3 star. Though it was a very basic hotel, it turned out to be mine and my teenage daughter's favorite in 13 nights travel through Italy
It was a great value and they have Wi-Fi for a nominal fee. The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was among the best. Christina in the lobby even helped me order the wine they carried in their showcase! The hotel is directly across the street from one of Italy's best gelato places. It was only short walk from the center of town. You cross a beautiful bridgeon the way. Did I mention they have a little gym! So cute!

The Hotel Italia in Verona, Italy was a very nice hotel. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. It is outside the city center, but it is an easy walk (less than 10 minutes) to Piazza Erbe and the major sites in Verona. The bathroom was on the small side (especially the tiny shower stall!). The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful, suggesting events to attend in the city (live opera at Verona's Arena) and providing maps of the city. Overall, a very nice hotel! I would stay here again.

- Relatively easy to find (look out for hotel sign and then underground garage (clearly marked) just before entrance)
- Friendly welcome, helpful staff
- Good sized, nice rooms
- 15 minute walk to centre of Verona
- Good breakfast
- Air conditioning did switch itself off in the middle of the night which made it a little hot

- Would definitely go back

Stayed here for two nights.

The reviews on Trip Advisor say it's a 15 minute walk to the main tourist area, but if you are traveling with someone older it's longer. Location was margial.

Room was nice, but they only have "sheers" on the windows which means the light from the apartment building next door kept the room illuminated all night.

The first day breakfast was great, but on the second I think the normal person was off and the man trying to manage it was not very good. He was out of a lot of food at 8;30 and breakfast goes until 10. Instead of restocking the buffet he just reset tables. When I specifically asked for something he went to get it, but...... people weren't real happy with the selection by 8:30

From the self enclosed parking to the clean, comfortable room, this was one of our best finds in Italy. We had wifi and drinks in the comfortable lobby and enjoyed the free breakfast the next morning. We were close enough to walk to all the cool stuff in the center of the city. I would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel is located a 15 minute walk from Piazza Bra' and just outside the old part of the City. 10 Minutes from Casa del Giulietta. The room was very clean, with a fridge and funnily, the aircon went off at weird times during the day. The staff at reception were exceptionally helpful and assisted wherever possible.

Bus ride from Station to Hotel was €2.40 each(10 minutes) and Taxi from Hotel to Station €15 on a Sunday (8 minutes) and a further €5 each from Station to Airport via aircon Shuttle Coach (15 minutes).

The room was non-smoking, but somewhere in the past, must have been a smoking room, since the room did smell of stale smoke. The aircon vents had left black marks against the wall from pushing out smoke and the aircon needs to be properly serviced and cleaned to get rid of this.

There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel, but we did not see anyone use either of them and had the staff given us more information about what was on offer, we probably would have used them, instead opting for eating and drinking out.

The Internet facilities were ridiculously priced, but this seems to be a common theme in Italian hotels - in this day and age, I cannot see why 2 hours of poor internet (€4 per hour) access should cost me more than it costs me for a month of unlimited use in the UK?

The housekeeping staff knew nothing about the whereabouts of the advertised spa / gym on the 1st Floor, so we never got to see/use this facility.
