“Clean and Friendly Central Location”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

We pre booked the car park and this saves you time as well as money. Staff were friendly and helpful even recommending restaurants off the tourist trail Rooms were small and adequate but not 4 * . The shutters allow blackout allowing a good nights sleep. The air conditioning however will keep you awake if left on all night . Breakfast was buffet with a good choice of cold meats , cereals, muesli and croissants all included in the room price A tourist card allows you to visit churches and museums for a cheaper price and you can buy these at the attraction you first visit. This Hotel is very central and ideal if visiting the opera approx. 5 min walk. Its very easy to explore the old town on foot .

We stayed for one night at the beginning of September 2013. I'm someone who looks at all the reviews on trip advisor and study all the pictures, so I thought I'd booked somewhere really great, in fact we'd stayed in Rome for 3 nights before arriving in Verona, and after staying in Verona we went on to Lake Garda, but this was the most expensive hotel of our trip, so I hoped it would be a little luxury, but it wasn't!

The biggest problem was that the room was tiny. There was just enough room to move around the bed, nowhere to put our suitcases down, except on the bed itself and the bathroom was really odd. There was a piece of glass that separated the bedroom and the bathroom, so the person in the bedroom had to listen to the person in the bathroom using the toilet, rather unpleasant!

The air conditioning was very poor. It was very hot when we were in Verona at least 30 degrees, but the room never got down to a nice cool temperature.

There was a nice balcony and the hotel location was very convenient for most of the sights, with the arena being a 5-10 minute walk away. When we arrived we walked to the hotel from the train station, which on a cool day would probably be fine, but we arrived around 1ish on a very hot day and were sweltering by the time we arrived, but luckily the hotel staff let us check in early so we showered before going out.

Breakfast room was fantastic, huge selection of food to eat and friendly staff there and on reception.

Overall Verona is a lovely place, but very expensive, and we thought the hotel itself was very expensive for what it was.

My partner and I stayed for three nights to celebrate my birthday and go to two operas at the Arena. The location is only minutes from the centre of town and the Arena but thanks to the air conditioning and excellent double glazing on the patio doors to the balcony, plus the blackout curtains, it was quiet and we slept really well.

The staff were extremely efficient and helpful. The best example was when my daughter secretly contacted them to have a bottle of bubbly and fruit bowl delivered to me on my birthday. They arranged this for her and knocked on our door at 5pm, as she asked, bearing a tray with the bottle on ice with two glasses.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here for four nights. Got a taxi from the airport which cost 25 euro, 15 minutes. Staff very friendly and efficient on arrival and very helpful giving us maps and advice. Our room was very clean and spacious. The a/c was very handy and definitely needed and it also had a safe which was very convenient. Breakfast buffet style was very nice, gluten free options for me which was excellent. There was just one complaint we had and that was with our room being to the front of the hotel, extremely noisy with bins being emptied and constant traffic (bus stop right outside the hotel), this was from 6.00am onwards so definitely advise a room to the back of the hotel if staying here. Wifi was very good throughout except for a little slow in the bedrooms. Very central, walking distance to the main arena, shops and restaurants.
Staff were very helpful advising us of restaurants to eat locally with gluten free options, booking taxis and bus details to Lake Garda.

Overall definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate staying here on our next trip.

Bus 162 leaves from hotel bus stop to Riva in Lake Garda varying 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Bus ticket can be purchased in shop right next to the hotel.

Al Pompiere
Antico Caffe Dante (GF Pasta)

We were given a warm welcome on arrival at the hotel, and that feeling never left us during our stay. A nice smile on arrival, quick administration and good advice on the city, including a map, got us off to a good start.

Our bedroom was modern and had a relaxing feel to it, and great standards of housekeeping were maintained during our 2 night stay. A great breakfast served in relaxed surroundings and with a good selection of food on offer.

The hotel offers free wifi in rooms as well as in public areas, although this didn't always work on the bedroom floors during our stay for which the hotel apologised. Was also handy to have free use of hotel's own ipads in the lobby/lounge.

The hotel is well located in the city, easy to walk around the city centre from there, although we took a taxi from the station as we had heavy suitcases. Never used any other form of transport for the rest of our stay, and covered the city thoroughly.

My wife and I stayed here for a week while attending two operas. It was perfect. Our room was perfect, one of the newer ones. Bed made up every day. We used their private garage for our car (€15 per day, but worth it) the breakfast was simple but good and all you would need to get you started for the day, they even had my latte ready for me after only the second day. They also only charged us for the last day for the minibar, we did only use water and soft drinks :-),
would certainly stay here again and recommend it highly.
