Excellent central location - if slightly noisy if there is a show on at the Arena. A quality, small and friendly hotel tucked away near buses (to the railway station) and walking distance to all the sights of Verona.

Hotel Torcolo is about a 3 minute walk to the ancient arena in the old center of Verona. We had opera tickets and couldn't have asked for a better location. Our room was very nice and quite large for just the 2 of us. We ate dinner at the outdoor restaurant in front of the hotel, which was very good. Catarina was very helpful in every way, offering directions to sights in the city, looking up information on train schedules, and making dinner reservations. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

This could be classe a boutique hotel with its individual character and styling. There is a wonderful personal touch from all the staff. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast outside each morning. It is so close to everything you would want to explore and we easily walked there from the train station with two suitcases each. There is close access to a supermarket around the corner and plenty of small bars/cafes for meals. We did have a lunch at the restaurant torcolo and thought it was expensive and pretty ordinary meal - but it is not connected to the hotel at all - just looks that way. We were on the third floor corner room and had a wonderful view of the street life below. Upon checkout, new were asked about our forward journeys in Italy and given tips on what to do and see, which was lovely.

Hotel Torcolo is a small hotel in Verona that is very conveniently located. Very near the Collesium and Piazza Bra. Nice enough room, very helpful staff, close to lots of restaurants. Staff helped with opera tickets by actually purchasing them for us with great seats.

We stayed for two nights in July while in Verona to see a production of Aida. The hotel is perfectly located - a very short walk to the Arena and Piazza Bra - so convenient for the opera. Caterina, our hostess was charming and welcoming. She clearly know her opera and loves her city! She provide wonderful suggestions and directions for seeing Verona. Our room (36) was spacious and quiet and the air conditioning kept the room comfortable and cool. We hope one day to return to Verona and the Hotel Torcolo. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I have stayed here twice in June/July to see the opera and it's a truly lovely hotel. Sylvia, Caterina and Diana could not be more friendly and helpful. It's lovely to take breakfast outside and it's in a very picturesque side street, a stone's throw from the arena. At night the nearby Restaurant Torcolo (very good food) is lit up with colourful glass lanterns hung over the outdoor tables and it looks very atmospheric.

We wanted a hotel close to the centre of Verona, and came upon the Hotel Torcolo, which had generally good reviews and was relatively inexpensive. This turned out to be the perfect choice for us, about 50 metres from Piazza Bra and the arena. Before we even arrived, the Hotel turned up trumps, as the booking site we used showed no double rooms available, so we booked a treble room, and asked for a double bed. An immediate email response asked if we wanted a double room, and assured us that although we would arrive late there would be someone there to greet us. This turned out to be very true, and for the whole of our four day stay they could not do enough for us, telling us about a free concert on the Sunday as we e preparing to go out for the day. This was an added bonus to our stay, and added to our enjoyment.
Everyone on the staff was very friendly and the receptionist even came out to the taxi to say goodbye when we left.
One piece of advice for visitors during the Verona festival is to ask for an upper room or one at the back, as they serve meals outside in the courtyard after the opera performances, until around 3am. Having said this, we had a front room on the first floor, and the "white noise" of the air conditioning was enough to drown the noise of the diners. In response to one review regarding a lack of air conditioning, we were there during record high temperatures in Verona, and the room temperature was kept very cool and comfortable.
Would we return? If we go back to Verona, definitely!
