“Opera Season”

I will start out with a complaint - the coffee (which may or may not be orzo) is the worst we had whilst in Verona.
With that out of the way I can deal with the important parts of our stay.
The Arena could not be more convenient (though for some this might not be an advantage), yet the sound doesn't travel and the Milano is remarkably quiet for its situation. The rooms are modern and clean and the hotel was comfortable and relaxed throughout, even though we were staying when Verona was 'enjoying' temperatures of the mid to high 30%C. The high temperatures created an expected problem - sleep with the air conditioning on and get a sore throat, or with it off and not sleep at all.
We found the staff uniformly helpful and courteous whilst the front desk staff were also informative. Their recommendations for dinner were so good, we went back to one restaurant on a second occasion.
Whilst it's not cheap we felt that the MIlano was excellent value for money and would certainly stay there again.

This was our second visit to the Hotel Milano - so this speaks volumes. We were not disappointed. We knew this wasn't a cheap option , but the hotel is extremely well-placed and reasonably priced for such an historic ( and subsequently ) expensive city- especially during the operatic season. The hotel continues to take pride in its abundant breakfast: freshly presented local cheeses, salami, fruits and the usual bakery items such as rolls and sweet pastries - even an English breakfast with bacon, boiled and scrambled eggs lurked in the background. Breakfast staff are helpful and smiley. Coffee at breakfast, surprisingly wasn't brilliant - a small complaint ( instant, or not the best quality...? ) The room ( a double ) not especially spacious, but it retained the same impeccable standard of cleanliness we experienced on our previous visit. We overlooked the front ( a narrowish side street, very close to the Arena ) but did not experience any significant noise at night - maybe because it was possible to close windows ( double glazed ) as a result of the room's air conditioning system. A real bonus, which helped to counteract Italian heat and humidity in late July. The room had a fridge - useful for cool drinks, but also for storing deli items bought from nearby local shops. You will need a bottle opener. If you require tourist information, you can go to the nearest tourist office five minutes' walk ( located beyond a line of shops near to the Arena ). Travel may be booked there and the staff are helpful when dealing with non-Italian speakers. Front desk staff at the Hotel were reasonably helpful - but at the time of our stay, we felt the atmosphere was little impersonal and on one occasion our request for tourist information wasn't followed through efficiently and with enough interest from the member of staff concerned - hence our visit to the Tourist Information Centre. In this respect a change from previous visit, when we felt more aware of the presence of the Manager and his partner. Otherwise very little to criticise in a well-run three star Hotel.

Room Tip: Try to avoid a room close to the lift - you will hear other guests trekking across the landing duri...

Great location but Verona is small so anywhere you stay will be close. I would suggest to ask for a room away from the arena if there is a concert or opera on as the hotel is very close to the arena and the noise kept us awake. Bathrooms are small and the sink did not drain, the safe was not operational or bolted to the floor and the rooms are extremely small, the bed wasn't very comfortable and my wife and I ended up with bites all over our bodies from this hotel. Breakfast and the service in the breakfast room was good as per other reviews. Considering this hotel is only 3 star and the same price as some of the 5 star hotels we stayed in during our trip to Italy it was overpriced and not very good value.

Staying at Milano Hotel was an amazing experience for myself and my family, as we were shocked on the hotel's location but the services, rooms, and the staff changed our point of view totally. We had a really great time, our rooms were neat and very spacious comparing to hotels in Italy and Europe in general. In addition, rooms' toilets were huge and very clean and new. The staff were very nice and helpful from the receptionists to room cleaners to the luggage carrier. We has a breakfast-included offer, the buffet was very simple but satisfying for us as we are not fans of breakfast, a really nice thing is that when we used to be late to the buffet by few minutes, hotel staff will let in and offer coffee and snacks with a smile. The location of the hotel was amazing on a close to attractions manner. It was close to long street of cafes and restaurants as we were never hungry when we were in Verona. We also Halal restaurants close to us.

Room Tip: corner rooms has bigger toilets but on a very noisy street, while middle rooms has a bigger room spa...

Location, clean, price, service, breakfast, free internet, no carpet on floor, non-smoking, comfortable bed. No complains, but if you are overweight or obese, check ahead for a bigger shower. We are fit/skinny and still found the shower quite small. I had to wash my hair keeping my elbows close to my body in order to fit in the shower. That was in room 120. But that wasn't a big deal for me at all. The hotel is only few steps from the Arena and close to every main tourist site.

Fabulous location, spotlessly clean, huge bathroom, extremely comfortable bed, only here 1 night but could easily have stayed longer. So close to the arena, Juliets's Balcony and the Roman Theatre. Fabulous shops too.

I had the pleasure of having being treated to 3 days in Verona for our 10th wedding anniversary. We had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location of this hotel was AMAZING, we had a view of the stadium from our bedroom window. The only downside was the free wifi was a bit hit and miss from the bedroom. The room however was wonderful. The staff were superb (especially the very hard working breakfast manager). I would highly recommend this hotel.
