Just back from a driving tour of Italy and France with 2 other couples. I am reluctant to review this hotel as don"t want to share it with any one. I loved it ! It is on a hillside on the outskirts of Verona. It is a converted water storage building. Inside it feels more like a museum than a hotel. It only has 8 rooms. There is no real comfortable relaxing interior lounge space but there are some tables and chairs in the beautiful and relaxing gardens. The hotel has fabulous views. The bedrooms are simple but beautifully appointed. The owner is not what you expect from a hotel. He greets you as if you are an invited house guest. We were met with complimentary red wine and a seat in his beautiful gardens that have wonderful views.I only saw one other member of staff during our stay. Transport was provided to take us into Verona to the Opera and home. Our driver was most informative and obliging. Breakfast was outside at a beautifully laid table. Home made jams and marmaldes were part of a groaning breakfast buffet. The sense of peace at this hotel was almost palpable. I loved the unusual building that lacked any feel of the traditional hotel and was bowled over at the hospitality afforded to us. I cannot wait to return !
