“Oasis of shade and cool pathways”

Palazzo Giardino Giusti
Reviewed 27 June 2018

From the heat of the Verona streets you step into a green paradise. Shady paths lead to pools with fish or terrapins with gentle fountains. A maze amuses the easily amused (me) and box hedges and tall cyprus trees add formality. A fearsome face glares down from the rocks above, before you climb up to a viewpoint overlooking the city. This garden is off the beaten track, but not far from the bridges and included in your Verona card. It is definitely worth it to escape the heat, if not to idly watch terrapins push each other off the floating lights.

Beautiful calm gardens. Lovely boxed hedges at the front of the garden leading to wooden area with little paths running through. Climb up the Bell Tower steps to enter into the top garden for beautiful views of Verona. It's €8.50 to enter and worth it for a lovely hour or two a peace and beauty.

In the middle of what seems like a residential area of Verona, this garden is truly amazing. Very structured for the most part, gorgeously green. A real oasis. It's a hike to get to from the center of the old city, but well worth the walk (or taxi).

I spent a week in Verona, visiting a friend! I loved the city! The museums... the little streets... the wine festival... And this beautiful, amazing Garden!

Graceful, charming, ancient, memorable. What a lovely, magical place! Not enormous but certainly not small. What a lucky family enjoyed the views from the Palazzo out onto these beautifully designed gardens. The palazzo itself is included in the price of admission and may be the only building open to the public we have ever been in completely without an attendant. On the morning we were there, we walked through the rooms open to public by ourselves and it was possible to imagine what it would be like to be in residence, looking out at "our" beautiful gardens. Bella, bella, bella!
