We were one of the first ones there for dinner service. The restaurant is small and quaint and as you go downstairs you can see the rustic charm of the venue. There were only a couple of tables indoors and a few more outdoors which give a lovely intimate atmosphere.

The waitress was very attentive and helpful. We ordered our food and they sent down a complimentary dish which was just divine. The quality of the food was out of this world and I would definitely recommend the beef carpaccio and raspberry and vanilla pannacotta.

Would go back again in a heartbeat.

The garden setting, interesting sounding menu, and friendly server attracted to this just out of the center spot. Unfortunately all those pluses couldn't make up for the execution from the kitchen. The Mille Foglie of Melanzane was almost raw as was the caponata accompanying the main course. The meat course was cooked to
The female server was wonderfully engaging and knowledgeable. Good wine list. Such a good concept and setting and service deserve food prepared to match.

We have eaten twice at Cantina during our stay in Verona, and it compares very favourably with other serious restaurants. It is indeed somewhat hidden - from the street it appears to be a tiny room, but downstairs is the pleasant umbrella covered courtyard, looking over one of the few private gardens in central verona (also shared with Il Relais b&b). The menu holds some lovely options, with chef styling and preparation of local favourites like baccala. Last night I had gnocchetti with sicilian red prawns, basil, broccolini and the quite unusual but delicious finishing touch of lime juice - one of the best pasta dishes I have eaten anywhere. Duck breast was also delicious. Service is attentive and warm, and the chef is also active in welcoming his clients. Well recommended.

Family of two adults and two older teenagers requiring a pre Opera dinner that was informal but had a little something to make the occasion and our holiday special, it didn't disappoint. Arrived at 7pm hoping for a table and were warmly accommodated, regrettably the restaurant wasn't given justice as we left after the main course in order to be at the Arena for 9pm. Slightly pricey but that's subjective. If you are thinking of dinner in the Arena square or a nice meal 5 mins further walk away then go here. Our main courses were Duck, Pork, Lamb and Penne Pesto and were all exquisite.

We booked here before the Opera and it was terrific. The food was delicious, services extremely attentive and the small garden a quiet refuge in the city. Recommend highly.
