The opera in verona should be on everyones bucket list. This year was my second trip and we saw carmina burana. It was outstanding. There was a full moon, it was a warm summer evening and we were two rows from the front. Priceless experience everyone should do it.a

This museum is located at the Palazzo Forti, previously the home of the Galleria of Modern Art. It is well layed out, over 3 floors with interesting, text, pictures, costumes and a audio-visual exhibitions. There is a particular focus on the 100 year history of the Verona opera. Not well advertised is an excellent restaurant which has a courtyard terrace and indoor eating. We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch indoors (with opera playing). If you are going to the opera, pick up a voucher which gives you access for €2 instead of the normal €8 entry fee, Worth a visit.

Opera Carmen, in historic amphitheater was a spectacular experience.
Over 300 players, great stage and a great story. Really recommended. Setting is breathtaking.

The largest open opera hall in the world hapens to be a 2000 year old Roman arena. With magnificent performances in an exotic venue, reasonable pricing and friendly staff, what else can you ask for?

My first opera experience was Carmen in this arena in mid August and I was suitably impressed. We pre booked seats and had a great view of the stage as a result. It was pricy, as you would expect, however for four hours of entertainment it was not at all overpriced. The staff were very helpful, the setting sumptuous and the show wonderful. Highly recommended.
