A well placed well run hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms are a bit on the small side. It has an underground secure car park, which although has to be paid for it's worth it for the security.

We stayed at the Hotel Trieste for 4 nights in June and absolutely loved it.

The reception area is smart and welcoming, the staff are extremely friendly, and the rooms very comfortable. The location could not be better - just a couple of minutes' walk from the Arena and main shopping streets. There is an underground garage with CCTV security for those who arrive by car, the hotel provides free bikes for guests to use, which is a fabulous idea as it's the perfect way to explore the city. But free bikes are not the only perk on offer - there is an internet station in the lobby, and tea, coffee, water and biscuits available throughout the day This is a family run hotel and the owners are very much on hand to make sure everything is running smoothly and that guests are happy.

One word of advice - if you're a light sleeper, ask for a quiet room at the back of the hotel. Some reviewers have mentioned traffic noise, which is perhaps inevitable given that the hotel is located on one of Verona's main thoroughfares, even though the windows are double glazed. We had a twin room at the back and a 'Romantik' room at the top of the building ('Romantik' supposedly because there is a skylight instead of a regular window), and were extremely comfortable in both. All rooms are air-conditioned, and most have Sky TV with English channels. And the whole place is spotlessly clean.

The breakfast room is bright, airy and tastefully decorated. As well as the buffet, offering homemade yoghurt, fruit, pastries, cakes, meats and cheese, you can order the usual fare of toast, omelettes, cappuccino, hot chocolate etc, and the waiting staff are keen to help with any special requests at no extra cost.

I cannot understand how anyone could give this hotel a bad review. We felt very welcome and comfortable, and would definitely stay here again. It's a gem of hotel. A special thank you to Mathias who went out of his way to help us with information, maps, directions, suggestions etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back.

My husband and I and two more couples chose this hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor and we couldn´t make a better choice. The hotel is centrally located, just five minutes walk from the center of Verona. Our room (well sized and spotless) has a balcony with a very nice view of the city (and this was an standard room). The bathroom modern and perfect. The lobby was beautiful, we even took pictures of every corner because we want our living rooms to look like that. The staff was wonderful. The last day ( I regret not asking his name) the guy from the front desk helped us so much finding transport to go to Bellagio, he really was more like a friend who dedicated almost an hour helping us. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms perfect. I really recommend this hotel 100%. Do not doubt it!

My husband and I stayed here for a night in April. We found the room to be clean and comfortable and the front desk to be friendly. The lobby had a very modern feel to it; the rooms were more of a Holiday Inn feel, but still nice. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. For the money, it's a fine place to stay.

The hotel is outside of the main gates of Verona, but easily within walking distance to all attractions. It's about 15 minutes walking to the train station.

After conducting a business meeting in not so distant isola della scala, i made my way towards verona for my one night stay at the Hotel Trieste, beautifully situated in corso porta nuova-a two-minute walk to the beautiful arena and fancy via mazzini.Upon my arrival i am greeted by couple of scruffy looking, though polite reception boys after negotiating the tight , doungeon underground parking for my small car.The hotel tries invane to display an old fashioned 1800s look, but instead outlines the dire need of major renovation for this building.the rooms is reasonably spacious lengthways, it is however very tight-the bathroom(in my room anyway)door only opens half way as some bright spark decided to install a bidet in a space where you're gasping for air.The breakfast(included in my tariff of 79 euros) is embarrassing!poor quality food(frozen re-heated pastries) coffee that is so bad it could unbock drain pipes, some of the waiting staff with very, very poor english, make you want to run outside to taste the real thing-walk outside to your right head towards the arena on corso porta nuova try bar filarmonico caffe' good quality pastries and great coffee-avoid the cafes and restaurants facing the arena as they are very touristy, and offer average quality-good views tough. For something real and veronese try RISTORANTE GREPPIA, hidden in a labyrinth of alleyways but worth the find-try polenta with lardo di colonnata, fettuccine with black truffle, great wine.
I have stayed at better places for much less-the position is their only savior-for now-people will eventually wake up.
HOTEL TRIESTE SPEND SOME MONEY ON YOUR ESTABLISHMENT-IMPROVE YOUR FACILITIES-FEED YOUR GUESTS GOOD QUALITY ITALIAN FOOD-WAKE UP!!!!

Room Tip: there is better-don't make my mistake!!

The hotel reception is beautiful, and though small evreything is done niceley. The room had a nice balcony and was spacious enough if a little plain. The location is close enough to walk to the city centre ina few minutes, but not within the main throng. It's also helpfully positioned to walk to the station with cases, and catch the reasonable shuttle bus to the airport ( saving about £15 based ont he taxi ride.

It's B and B only, but the breakfast was lovely:bowls of fresh fruit, homemade pastries, ham, cheese, juices, great coffee and eggs to order.

We will always remember the hotel staff though. They couldn't be more obliging. We asked for restaurant tips, they cave us some real gems, We asked whether there was a chocolate shop and they sent us to the most beautiful little shop in a tiny back street.
They encouraged us in our attempts at italian, but offered all the information which we might want in english too.

A wonderful relaxing break.

Our visit to Verona was made even better by our stay at Hotel Trieste. It is located just outside the main gate to the city center. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions, recommendations and history of the city. The room was very clean and a good size for the 3 of us. The breakfast room was bright, neat, and inviting. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast of fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses and breads not to mention the fruit juice and coffee. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying with them again some day.
