For the cheap price this place is a steal - homely, clean, artsy, friendly and what not! This was as nice as staying in your own place but only better because it is in Verona. I felt like paying double what I had to when paying the room rent.

We booked Residenza Muropadri based on what appeared to be good reviews and photographs. However, when we got there (difficult to find) we were very disappointed. The bedroom although large was poorly lit and there were no wardrobes merely a timber/cloth hanging space from Ikea. The "private" bathroom was not attached and one had to access it from the corridor. The windows and doors generally had flaking paint.
The lounge was well lit during the day but was dingy after dark. The flaking french windows could only be opened a little, as they stuck on the floor. The furniture throughout the whole place was obviously second hand from a flea market. The chaise lounge seen in photographs was lumpy, worn and thoroughly uncomfortable. The remaining chairs were also uncomfortable and some questionable as to whether they would hold together. There were several old magazines for reading material.
There were no plugs in the basin in the bathroom and if one opened the bathroom window to let out the steam you could not access the basin. The odd shower tap dug into your back while showering. The shower was not particularly clean either. There was no where to place your clothes or towel except on top of the toilet.
The kitchen/breakfast room was poorly lit but it had stable chairs. Breakfast consisted of packaged crossants (yuk), some questionable cereal (there was only a little in the container and was not replaced - no idea how long it had been there). Fruit was not replaced and most of it was rotting. There were however plenty of biscuits and we ate those instead of the squishy plastic crossants. Washing up of dishes was difficult in poor lighting, doging a flapping curtain arrangement.

The only thing good about the place was the owner - Matteo. Very pleasant and tried to be accommodating. Advised us to visit Mantova which was very pleasant and interesting.

Residenza Muropadri needs a massive renovation. The irrelevant giant ex -exhibition posters of projects in Africa and Vietnam should be replaced with something that ties with the history and beauty of the city itself. The price was very high when compared to what we paid in Vicenza for a large, beautifully appointed and self contained apartment just outside the city walls. The B & B was also extremely noisy as the baker downstairs commences work at 3am!

Although Matteo pointed out where supermarkets and internet points should have been, there were none. We finally ate our breakfasts at Pan Cafe just before the Ponte Nuovo.
We would not recommend this B & B until major renovations were undertaken. Photographs do not show the shabbiness, dust and darkness of the B & B.

There are only few B&Bs in Verona, so you're be quite limited in choice. Rezidenza Muropadri is an extremely good solution - it's a very quiet, neat & cosy flat even with a touch of bohemian style. I really enjoyed my night there. The only possible minus - it's about 10 minutes walk from the center of the city. However, for me 10 minutes is just nothing, don't know how it's for you. So, if you want to stay in a peaceful place in Verona and skip lower-class hotels you can get for the same or even higher price - that might be a very good choice.

Cute, clean, great coffee at breakfast, a kitchen you can actually use, nice common space for meeting other travelers, and a nice quiet location in easy walking distance to the center of town. We loved this place!

We just got back from 3 nights in Verona staying here. It was a great budget option, especially in the middle of the opera season and given we booked fairly late. It's a nice apartment with 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a pleasant if sparsely furnished separate lounge. The best and largest room is the twin which has a small balcony and large window & would be fine as a triple.

It's run by a friendly, if rather laid back couple, who live nearby & only seem to come in once a day or when meeting new arrivals so you may not see much of them. Don't expect hotel standards; the beds won't be made for you and although the breakfast was fine there's no toaster and it's UHT milk in the fridge. But there is an expresso machine and plenty to eat including biscuits in the tin. Fresh milk can be bought at the shop around the corner. If you want to cook in the kitchen that might be a challenge as I saw no sign of pots and pans or how to get the oven going but the microwave works fine.

The apartment is an picturesque 8-10 minutes walk to Piazza Bra or Piazza Erbe - much closer than it looks on the maps. It cost Euro24 from the airport but you can also get a bus to the main train station and then swap to the local bus service - ask for the local bus numbers when booking.

Clean, cool and quite spacious we liked it as a nice alternative to cramped and expensive hotels and the walk, our only intial reservation, was really not a problem. Highly recommended.

I recently stayed two nights in Verona at the B&B Muropadri which on found on an Italian B&B website. What a find! It was like a home away from home, essentially it is a two bedroom two bathroom apartment with a kitchen (food included) and lounge room. The owners live nearby and are easily contactable by mobile phone. It is beautifully decorated and while it is across the river from the old part of town the laundrymat and post office are nearby. It was a wonderful experience and highly recommended and at 60 euros a night for a single it was a bargain for Verona during the opera season.
