Not sure what I can add to the other reviews here! Simone is a top host, my wife and I felt welcome from the second we stepped through his door. We were on the final stop of our honeymoon, so were given a bottle of tasty prosecco on our arrival. Great breakfasts. We had 2 wonderful meals at 2 places he recommended and an awful meal at a place in an area he suggested we avoid! Simone requested an objective review that could help him with future improvement to his B+B so I feel I should mention the only minor negative, our room was not too well insulated against noise from the rest of the B+B, only an issue when other guests had their breakfast before us. Simone is an enthusiastic host and will happily help you organise your time in Verona. If you have your own plans, or just want to relax, I would let him know.

The location is out of town so you need a car. We took a return journey in taxi so we could drink in the eve and it cost, 20 Euros to town and 18 Euros on our return ( after midnight). The grounds of the villa are huge and pretty, a great place to lounge when the temperature rises. On our final day after we had checked out Simone took us to his friend's winery where we had a tour then spent an hour or so sampling some of the local produce. This was above and beyond what you would expect of your typical B&B host and was a great way to round off out trip! Cheers Simone!

We visited Villa Beatrice because we couldn't believe the great reviews were real - but we are now new additions to the Simone fan club! The villa is set in beautiful grounds and is a home away from home. It's a bit tricky to find the first time round but once you know where it is, it's literally 5-10 minutes away from the centre of Verona.

We chose a room with a private bathroom but probably wouldn't bother to do this next time. Our room was large and modern with ample storage, a comfortable bed and brilliant air conditioning. The bathroom was spacious though when Simone tells you it takes 10 minutes for the water to warm up, he really means 10 minutes!

Simone's hospitality is second to none. He listens to what your interests/objectives are and tailor makes suggestions to suit - we ate at some fantastic restaurants and visited some beautiful places that were mainly frequented by Italians and the prices charged reflected this - ie not tourist traps. His English and sense of humour are great so he's very easy to get along with.

He serves a delicious breakfast each morning - a former chef running a B&B - where did it all go wrong? :) Only thing to beware of in the garden are the mosquitos. I got bitten several times (even at breakfast) when I'm not usually bothered by them and if you want to barbecue later in the evening, make sure you've got your mosquito spray with you! When Simone realised I was being bitten, he even supplied me with mosquito spray and lent me some (together with seat cushions) when we were visiting the opera in Verona one evening. His attention to detail is remarkable.

For the first two days we had the run of the villa to ourselves which we thought was fabulous; but it got even better when the other guests arrived for our final two days. We all shared breakfast at the same table in the garden and got along famously. People visit from all over the world; we shared our time there with couples from Singapore, Norway and Holland - and were all sad to leave each other when we finally left.

All in all, we had a fantastic time and hope to return in the future. Simone makes you feel as if you are arriving as guests and leaving as friends.

Just left Simone's hospitality and long to return. Breakfast on the terrace with homemade coffee cake, "magic potion" fresh squeezed fruit juice from the orchards nearby, the best cappuccino in all of Italy and mix in the scent of blooming jasmine and the delightful sounds of the cuckoo bird singing in the garden and you have no trouble destressing from the US fast paced, multi-tasking lifestyle. In case you are still not convinced, try the hammock nestled between 2 shade trees or a game of outdoor ping pong with your family or Simone. Simone's smile and hospitality make going on vacation seem more like going home.

We were impressed even before we went there, not only by the reviews but by Simone's speed of response - unlike other places where we might wait anxiously for days for a reply, Simone replied every of our e-mails within hours, or even minutes. Before we set off there were news of the earthquake at northern Italy, and although we knew that Verona was not hit, we worried that we might not be able to visit some places we had planned to. We asked for Simone's advice and he promptly gave us sound advice and suggestions.

On the day we arrived at Verona, our GPS was not working properly, we got to the bottom of the hill but could not locate Villa Beatrice. Simone asked us to stay where we were and came to pick us up in person, and later that night guided us to a nearby reataurant for dinner.

Every day in the morning Simone would give us his advice on our day trip, such as suggestion for sights to see, places to park, restaurant recommendation, etc, which we found very useful.

When he knew that our GPS was not working, he lent us his GPS for the rest of our stay at Villa Beatrice. We were really grateful.

On the day we left we still could not revive our GPS, and when Simone knew this, he insisted that we take his GPS for the rest of our trip and post it back to him when we left Italy. We were not just grateful, we were touched.

We haven't yet mentioned the place : the rooms are clean and cheerful, the garden is beautiful and carefully tendered, the breakfasts are the best we ever had in our stay of B&Bs. The location is great - you enjoy the peace of the country-side but would be in the centre of Verona within minutes with a car.

But what we would remember most is the host - at Villa Beatrice, we see a host who is not only dedicated to and enjoys what he is doing, he sincerely wants his guests to have a good time.

We have a wonderful stay in Villa Beatrice! Simone runs this bed and breakfast with "Passion"! He prepares home made breakfast for us every morning including "fresh mixed fruit juices with a spice of ginger" (really rejuvenates us!), home made yoghurt, apple strudel, delicious scambled eggs and BIG NICE cappucino! We were very lucky to have good weather and were able to enjoy our breakfast in the verandah facing the garden!

Simone also helps us to plan our sightseeing. He purchases some Verona cards in advance out of his pocket first to save us the trouble from buying the card ourselves. The Verona card was an excellent deal and we managed to see many sites at just eur15! Besides, Simone also recommends some wonderful palces like Borghetto, Mantova which are very interesting too!

For the second time in a row we have felt the great hospitality and friendlyness of Simone in villa Beatrice. It is a great place to enjoy rest and be just out side the city of verona. Our seven year old daughter was with us and had a graet time too. Especialy with her good friend Zeus (the dog).
In our view this is the place tot stay when visiting Verona. We will be back next year!
